Default gp giles 202 .46 kit servos

I am just finishing up on the GP Giles 202 .46 kit and would like to know what others are using for servos?

Standard servos are fine.

Hitec 425 or 475 servos should be fine. I like to use a Hitec HS-81 mini to work the throttle. Lightweight and clean.

If your using an engine mount thats square--like a Goldberg or a GP adjustable mount--then make a little bracket from steel and mount the servo right on the engine mount. Make up a little 3" long linkage rod. Keeps it neat and slop free. No problem with trying to penetrate the firewall and use a stupid little flexible cable.

Don't worry about vibration. I've been doing this for years and I haven't killed an HS-81 yet. I did loose one a few years ago--but it was a crashed servo when I installed it. I haven't had a single problem when installing new servos in this manner. They are all still working just fine. Years later.

That is a great idea! I am using a round mount but it looks like I might be able to do that, however I am going to be a bit nose heavy the way it is now. I'll look at the wt/bal on it anyway.

Whaturi Thanks for your input.

I've even epoxied servos to the engine mount.

Sand the side of the servo with 60grit paper. Really rough it up good. Then sand the side of the mount too. Scuff them both up real good.

Slap some 5 minute epoxy on the servo and stick it on.[sm=thumbup.gif]

Consider it a "break away" connection. Just in case you crash.[sm=lol.gif]
