Hello,
Im new to all of this so i need some help.I got a really good deal or what think is a good deal on a citabria arf.
I got that with a 4 channel futuba control-A tiger PROabc with muffler and all the glue and stuff i need to assemble the kit for $100 . All still in the plastic brand new. Is this a good deal or was I suckered?
Either way I have it a need to put it togeather so heres my question.I mounted the servo on the the plate and installed it in the wing. Is the servo wheel supposed to stick up out of the wing or do i put the push rod inside the slot to the wheel? I will surely have many more questions and all your help is appreciated.

Since it sounds as though this is your first plane, it would be wise to get some in-person help from someone that has been flying for a while. If you have a local hobby shop or club contact them, and see if there is someone willing to help out a newbee--there usually is, we're very friendly people .

Getting help will make all the difference in how your first build and flying goes, allowing you to build your skills much more rapidly (and cheaply!) than if you try to go it alone. Attempting a solo build and flight of this plane will lead to a very short R/C career and a lot of dissapointment.

Incidentally, what is the maker of the plane? The size? Given a few more details we may be able to offer some advice, however NOTHING can take the place of a live, skilled instructor.

Thanks for the reply. I plan to call around to some of the shops. There are a few things I need. I have already found that my servo wires are too short lol.Anyway now big deal.

I'm really in no hurry. I tinker with it here and there. Most of my time is spent on SCUBA diving so this is somethin to work on on the rainy days.I seem to be gaining more interest as i go along. Welcome to the addiction dnew93: Not only did you get a good deal, you got a steal! A conservative estimate is, you have about $350.00 worth there, like I said, thats a conservative estimate. Any more where that came from? As for your aileron servos, it really should not matter as long as you have a straight shot to the aileron without binding, and with no slop. Having the wheel/arm inside, may cause it to bind when deflected up. Having the wheel/arm stick out will make your pre flight checks easier. I vote to have them stick out. Good luck. BTW I don't understand why a rainy day would keep you from scuba diving, don't you get wet anyhow. Kidding of coarse . Garry

Thanks for the reply $ircra$halot.I have already finshed the wings and everything looks fine.The wheel is inside the wing . Mounting the motor soon. As far as diving goes I'll dive rain or shine. I just dont like to get wet on the way there lol.

Something to point out here is that the Citabria is not a beginners plane (Citabria is "Airbatic" spelled backwards). Find your local club and get instruction! They do not charge for this service and it is worth a fortune. It is MUCH more difficult than it looks to learn to fly, and starting out with an advanced plane like the Citabria will make it that much more difficult. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLY THIS WITHOUT HELP!!!
