I have built three extra 300's. One kit and two arfs. All three had flat wings on top, and the only dihedral was what was on the bottom due to the taper of the ribs.

the manufacture isnt stated strange its a chinese kit but very good quality. The top of the wing is not flat when I put them together. Going by the bottom of the wing the dihedral is 7 degrees im wondering if this is too much.

Generally a model such as an Extra should have no dihedral. Is the dihedral brace flat on the top and tapered on the bottom? If it is flat on the top then the panels should be glued together so there is no dihedral at all even if there is a gap between the inboard ribs.

Myself if it was my plane ,the top of the wing would be flat and what dihedral there is would be on the bottom, this makes for a more forgiving wing and wont snap as easy as a diamond shape will (dihedral on both top and bottom).Evern if you need to make a new brace its well worth it and do some sanding to the inner ribs for a good fit.Just my 2 cents but this has worked well for me over the yrs. Good Luck happy landings

If it is a mid-winged airplane, as many Extras are, then it should not be a dihedral. However, my Extra is a 300S (GP .60 kit) and as such it is low-winged and has some dihedral. As Tashley said, look at the dihedral brace.

Is the dihedral brace/wing socket fit fairly snug? If it is then the proper dihedral is set for you. Glue in one side to the center of the brace and when set, glue on the other wing panel.
