Need Help! I'm a little new to building and I'm wondering if there is a simple solution to my current problem. I have glued and taped the canopy onto my Super Sportster but when I put the plane in the sun water condensates on the inside.[
] How can I get rid of the water so that the condisation doesn't appear?

Is there any particular place that would be the best place to drill the hole like the front or center back or maybe the sides?

Another solution is to drill a 1/8" to 3/16" hole in the cockpit floor instead of the canopy. No worries about fuel residue that way. Here's another trick that works great: Drill a hole where your pilot will be fastened to the floor. All of your planes have pilots don't they? Next, drill a hole in the back of his neck or back. Before fixing him (or her) to the cockpit floor stick one of those little silica desicant (DO NOT EAT) pouches into his (or her) cranial cavity (head). Works great!

My Feedback: (109)
I would never drill a hole in the canopy myself, drilling a hole in the cockpit floor works well and I have also installed a small bag of silica inside the pilot bust (the bags that are shipped with alot of different electronic equipment works well) and then drill a small hole in the back of your bust-this will absorb the condensation when needed

Thanks for all the help. I'll decide what I'll do to fix this problem later. Right now I'm in a bit of a rush to get out the door to go flying.

I do believe all you guys, but trust me, drilling a hole in the floor of my MW EXtra's cockpit did not solve my canopy condensation problem one bit. As soon as the sun hits it ...bam. It's really a pain in the you know where and I would really like to get rid of this problem once and for all.

That's a good idea, but the strange thing is that none of my other canopied models have this problem and all have fairly well sealed canopies.

Well I'm not sure what to do. I thinking about taking the canopy off to release the moisture and then mount it again on a dry day. It is very moist where I live, it rains almost every day, everything grows like a jungle.
I'll ask the guys around here what they do to avoid moisture under the canopy, they should know how to handle this, after all they live here and need to deal with the climate too.
I have a GP Shoestring Racer that I'm putting together and before I continue with the build I want to make sure that the condensation problem has been solved.
Today I have received the gate key to our "pista" so I will be able to fly without an instructor or any supervision. Now let the fun begin!
I'll let you know how it goes with the condensation problem.
