Default Hinge Question

I am building a GP Ultra Sport .40+ and was wondering what the pros and cons are of both ca and nylon hinges. Also, if I wanted to, could I install nylon hinges in this plane if I wanted to contrary to the instruction manual which calls for ca hinges?

I use both,ca takes less work and is quick, but has more resistance bending.Nylon needs a bigger slot to fit in, must be careful not to clue the hinge part, when correctly has very little resistance when moving.

Default Hinge Question

I am in process with the same kit. I was pretty worried about the hingeing process as a newbie to kit building. After my first attempt at cutting a slot I chickened out and bought a "Slot Machine" and the little jig that should be in the box with it. The rest of the slots were done in about 30 minutes.

The CA hinges seem to flop about with very little bending resistance at this point. I imagine that they would stiffen up a bit when the CA is applied, but I think they are going to work out fine!
