I'm in a delema, aircraft is fully built and covered. Rudder and elevator pushrods flex as not to get full throw. Using 2-56 threaded rods. anyway of reinforcing them. Maybe sliding a piece of brass tubing over them as there is noway to get inside fuselage with doing much damage needless to say recovering the bottom. Any comments welcome. or suggestions. can you wrap a piece of 1/4 " balsa to the pushrods with thread (by the way that is a great plane to learn on!)

Cannot get to the pushrods on both ends would work however.

or carefully pull out the old rods and build new fiberglass rods to match and carefully reinstall them.

What if I used a ny rod both parts and slid them over the 2-56?

might help , if you can get back a couple of formers you could build a support for the rods

You can't take the end off at the back, attach another threaded at the ends only 4-40 and pull it through, put a new end at the back and at the servo, done??

I'm a little confused (so what else is new?) Where is the flex? is it outside the fuse between the push rod exit and the control horn, or is the whole tube flexing inside the fuse?

Well, there IS one easy fix...

Get some spray foam insulation, you know, that stuff in a can at Home Depot.

Carefully spray some inside the rear of the fuse. NOT TOO MUCH! This stuff swells up to about 10 times it's size and it's stickier than hell.

Make sure you get it down pretty far (I would hold the plane nose up so gravity will help)

Then watch it for an hour or so to make sure that it doesn't swell into the radio compartment and really make a mess of things.

Don't use the push rods until the foam sets up or they will flex and move the foam away from them.

Once it sets up, it will hold the tubes from flexing.

Foaming fuse, interesting, but watch out for the added weight in the tail. Easy to make it too tail heavy.

On my Kadet, I have 1/4" hard balsa push rods with about 3" of 2-56 threaded rod on each end. Haven't flexed yet in about 20 years. Of course my Kadet is a mark I and don't know what changes were made in a mark II.

Ive had 5 Kadet Mk II s over 6 years and never had a problem with flex. Most of them had the wood dowells with 2-56 wire. Maybe youre trying to put too much throw in, which would flex the wires. Back off the throws..you dont really need all that much to fly this bird.
