Hello all,
I just got in the mail a giant u can do 3d with a saito 180 on it. This thing looks like its going to be alot of fun. But anyway, the guy I bought it from had to cut 20 ca hinges off of the ailerons, flaps, and rudder to get it to fit back in its box to ship. Im looking at getting some robart hinge points or something similar because after seeing new ca hinges, not installed, it looks like it would be a wise upgrade at this point. So my question is, how do you size hinges, how many do you put in and how often? Thanks for any and all help.

Good call - Once CA hinges have been cut off, it's best to replace them with something else (And Robarts would be my first choice)
You'll need some 3/16" size hinges, and I strongly recommend getting the little guide that Robart makes for drilling the holes
I would say 4 or 5 on each aileron, 3 on each elevator, and 3 - 4 on the rudder
(Basically, just add a hinge wherever a CA Hinges used to be)
