i am building the cap 232 kit and have a question about the wing,in section 3 in the booklet(using the dihedral gauge to set R-2 at the proper angle, pin the jig tabs in place with small t-pins.again using the dihedral gauge, pin ribs R-2 through R-10 to your building board over their location on the plan)do they mean set all of the ribs with the dihedral gauge?any insight would be appreciated.

Yes all the ribs are angled. With the dihedral the ribs will be 90 degrees to the ground once the wing halfs are together...

Looking good , thats a nice flying little plane and straight forward to build .However I did change the landing gear on mine to a set off of a 40 sized Extra I had, Also opted for 2 servos in the wing .

i added another piece of hard wood to the fuse doubler for the landing gear mount.i might go with two aileron servos also,i have another wind kit for this model.i had a problem with the wing jig,i set up everything like was said and had weights on the wing halves during the epoxy set up but when i removed everything the wing came up a little higher on one side than was called for they stated no more than 1/16,it came out almost 1/8 difference guess a little sanding on the wing saddles wont hurt much

I am currently building this kit and I have thought about some mods to do, I will be happy to post the building process and the mods that I plan to do if you all are agree. I like to take pictures of each process step, even that is kind of redundant because the instructions already have these kind of pictures, posting them is great and with the mods are even better.
Mods are:
1.- Two aileron servos instead of one.
2.- Two elevator servos instead of one.
3.- One pull pull system for the rudder.
4.- Landing gear reinforcement doublers.
I believe that this is a great performer kit so no big structural changes should be made or better offer?

I would definitely go with the two servos. I built mine with one. It works fine but I personally like two better. I would also recomend ditching the stock plastic cowl and wheel pants. I ordered a cowl from fiberglass specialties. It took a little work to get it to look nice but it was much better than trying to glue the thing together that GP supplies. I have a .46-AX on mine. This flies the plane just fine but it needed about 3 ounces in the nose to balance. I think a heavier engine might not be a bad idea; you'll get more power to boot. There is plenty of room in the cowl to hide almost any engine. I love the way mine flys. It looks so cool rolling straight down the runway and lifting off. It's stable, aerobatic, predictable and a lot of fun. Here's a picture of mine before the cowl...

I built one last year and used two servos for the ailerons; however I mounted them in the wing outward from the fuse hooking them directly without the torque rod

Yes Waross thats exactly what I am planning to do.
Nice job Chuck, some time a go a club member had this plane powered with a Saito 91 and had a smoke pump, everytime he flew this plane everybody was impressed with the performance and the smoke show. I have a Saito 91 that I am planning to bolt on and I have the Smart Smoke Pump from TME which is now installed in my newly built Carl Goldberg Ultimate but is installed with a remomable tray so I will be able to switch it betwen these two planes.

This is the trim that I am planning to do, I copied mostly from the newest Sebastiano Silvestri design I will use metallic red and green and transparent red for the lower side of the wings with gray strips.
There are not much pictures to share I have finished the tail surfaces and I am going to start the wings by the next week after a week off that I am planning to spend at Las Vegas.

I have a GP CAP232 that is almost ready to fly. At present, it is approximately 3.3oz tail heavy (I have an Irvine 51 in it). Has anyone moved the rudder servo forward to the CG line to try and balance this thing out some?

Hi, Im building this kit too.
I remember in the instruction book, it said if you were installing a .46 two stroke to place the battery ahead of the fuel tank.
I think GP knows it will be a tad tail heavy.
Try doing that if you havent already, and maybe move your receiver forward in the fuse farther if you can.
