Hi all I am all but finished with the build on this sig cub,I still need to add the extra wing struts and its ready for the gear .
This is one of 3 planes thats being given away next year at the first annual fun fly on memorial day here .
I know its not fabric but heck for a free plane one cant say to much .
If anyone has a pic of a folding full set of struts for this type of plane I would like to see it.I have a few ideas but would like to compare notes.
Sig leaves this up to the builder to decide on and just shows them being glued solid from what I see.

For those that enjoy buillding as I do this is a great kit. It is in my opinion a kit for an experienced builder though because of the lack of instructions. I have built a number of them and they fly great! I prefer snap clevises for the ends of the struts and ply in the wings with holes to acept the jury struts.

Nice looking cub JEB.
Yes the instructions are pretty vague ,and your right this is not a beginners kit buy any means .I spent about 3 weeks on this little guy.I have spent less time framing a 28% gasser
I'll play some more with the struts to achieve what I want, I have seen it somewhere just where is the question?
But all in all to me building is allot of enjoyment and being laid up right now ,it helps keep me busy and my mind off of things .
Thanks for the comments

Myself and the guys I fly with have had many of these 1/6 sig cubs over the years. They fly very well on smaller power plants. I think the standard 40 4s will give you very good performance. Watch the weight though. I spite of a lot of building on this plane and its predominately stick type construction, it is a very rigid plane. I covered mine with yellow Monocoat (Monojunk). If I were to build another, and I will, I would use Koverall and Polycrylic with acrylic latex paints and a clearcoat.

If I was to build another cub ,I think I will try world tex covering ,its prepainted fabric like coverite but from what I can see, its much lighter like the plastic films. This 1/6 is a very light plane and to fly it scale , a small 4 stroke would be just the ticket.
