Naw, not yet. In fact, it's not even "in line" yet. I have to come up with an engine for it first. I mainly picked it up because A) I love the way it looks, B) I've always wanted one, and C) Great Planes has discontinued the kit. So I was making sure that I get one while I still could. Maybe Santa will be nice to me and bring me an OS 120!! [X(]

I got one from my secret Santa (early gift) and its in the queue right now for me too. Kind of the same situation, need an engine, other projects, etc. Funny, your rationale for wanting one probably matches many other's too - it did me. I love the way they look. Plus with all the help here on RCU from people who already built em - its tough not to add it to the collection.
Didn't realize that the kit was discontinued ... is that why they now produce the ARF?

There are lots of kits being taken off of the market these days. So I'm in a kit collecting mode. Whenever I see a kit that I think I would like to build later on down the road I'll buy it and stash it in my "hidey-hole"!!!!
Plus, when I get ready to build I trace all of the parts out so that I can always cut one from scratch later on if I want to build another one down the road.

Mike-
You've been recommending that YS 110 a lot lately. Wasn't that a YS on your Ultimate when you came to visit me and got in about half a flight before you had engine trouble?
I'm still planning on a Saito 125 for mine. Much lighter and my Saitos have never let me down.

Well yea, but that was because I had loosened the muffler and never tightened it properly. If you recal, the muffler fell off in flight which is what caused the dead-stick

RCKen,
How do you know the kit has been discontinued? I looked on the GP web site and it doesn't say anything about discontinued, it still references the plane/ Thanks

Talks with a VP at Great Planes, as well as the GP reps in Toledo. They didn't actually say "It's discontinued", but rather they said "If you want one you had better get one while you can".

The Great Planes Super Skybolt kit is still considered a current-production airplane. It is not slated for discontinuation at this time...in fact, more kits for stock are on order from the plant.

I know this has probably been beat to death and you're probably tired of hearing it but are there any new kits being designed? I understand that they definitely don't sell as well as they used too and that there are business decisions that must be made. Some new stuff would be great though. I'd love to see some 3-d type kits or maybe a .40 or .60 sized Yak-54, more all-around sport type planes, etc.
