Hi,

Yes I still have one of these and like yours mine was destined for the Bin until It was given to me to salvage. My Cousin bought it as a follow on plane from his trainer. He started building it and got so far with it and made a couple of mistakes along the way. As far as he was concerned he had made a total mess of it and left it sat untouched for 4 years. My Dad happened to be at the house one day when my Cousin was about to bin it. My Dad suggested why not let me have a look at it and see if I could sort it. My Cousin said If I could do anything with it then it is mine to keep !! Needless to say my Dad brought the plane home for me. That was 1994 !! and I still have her today. I am just redoing the covering (Heat shrink) and one or 2 other little bits and pieces and she will be back in the air again. I was lucky in that I had a spare OS 25 Engine doing nothing as that is the recommended engine for this plane. I did a couple of mods along the way and ended up having to build a whole new wing but that was nothing too difficult. (The wing rebuild was not due to the mods I had done but because of the old wing have gone brittle having sat for so long...I was able to cleanly break out the ribs to use as templates for the new wing) I had to correct a couple of small mistakes on the fuselage too but again that was nothing major.

I still have what is left of the Original Instructions, they are still good enough to work from for information purposes but they are pretty much in shreds. (Bearing in mind they are at least 17 years old now)

The Pics show the plane being prepped for restoration....You will notice it no longer has a trike undercarriage and now uses a teardrop type canopy (The old one has split so a new one is going on) The Plastic wing Tips have also been removed to allow for recovering of the main wing...I still have them very much intact.

The colour scheme on the main wing will be similar to that on the tailplane, on the underside it only has one red stripe to aid orientation in the air.

So I should be able to help you on this one, what do you need to know...??

Just an Extra for you on here,

I may be drawing up plans for this one in future so keep your eyes on this post.
The Mods that were done on mine in the pics are straightforward mods and do not take much to work out or do.
Where the Original plastic mouldings were will be shown as balsa equivalents, of course you can mould same if you have a Vac-Former
I will show them on my plans anyway.

If you need to find the Vac-former to do the mouldings, Look for it in [link]http://www.scale-models.co.uk[/link] in the tutorials section and you will find a full post on the Vac Former there, I am a Mod on there under the name of BlueWaveStudios. You will need to register first to see the plans and pics but that is completely free....and for the rest of you on here you are more than welcome to join us and we will welcome this site too....We already have many international members on board, Always nice to exchange ideas from other Forums across the world.

Regards......Mark
