Hello, knowledgable people.
I'm going to building the Top Flite Skylane soon, and was wondering about lighting. I want it as scale as possible. Tower shows a part number for the Bonanza kit that works for the Cessna, however, it looks like they don't stock it. I know RAM makes good qaulity kits (which Tower does stock), but don't know which ones I need. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you for your time and expertise.

Hi Randy.
You can see my plane here and I will post new pics today:

All my lighting system is home made, with circuits I found over the net. I can tell you that I saved a lot of money with this.
I have red and green position lights at wingtips always on, one white position light in the tail cone always on too, one red rotating beacon at vertical stab and two landing lights that goes on with the 5 channel switch in radio. All the lights are powered by a 1300 mAh nimh pack with a switch.
The circuit for the landing lights can be a simple on board glow plug starter that is easily found in the net, but instead of working with throttle it is plugged in the 5 channel and is operated with the 5 channel switch. These lights work with the same voltage than the glow plugs so you donīt have to change anything in the circuit.
The one for the rotating beacon itīs a circuit that makes a light go on and off with the desired time rate. You can find it also.
Hope this helps.

Here's a couple site's you might want to look at. Alan's RC Links and Brent's R-C electronics. Both of these web sites show how to make your own electronic lights, etc. (Brent's I believe has kits you can buy). Alan's has groups of information for rc. Look under electronics. Also, if you don't want to build your own look at RCLiteSys.

One more thought Randy, Whelen Engineering Co most likely makes the lights that go on the real Cessna's. Might check them out and see if they show some pictures of the real deal. I do know that Whelen makes the lights for the Cessna jets.
