Does anyone know of any software that I can use to develop trim schemes and paintjobs for RC Aircraft? I want to be able to see how a plane looks before I start covering/painting it. I was also considering using Paintshop/Photoshop to color a line drawing of a model, but I can't find any line drawings that are similar to my plane (Dragon Lady .60). Anyone? Thanks in advance.

I usually scan in the line drawing that has been in the back of my kit manuals and take that into Autocad and make a full size drawing of it. Then I do my basic layout in autocad. I then do a screen capture of that and take it into Photoshop for the actual coloring part of it. The good thing about doing it this way is I have a full scale pattern to use for cutting out the monokote when I decide on a design. Of course, it helps that I'm an architect and have a large scale plotter to print these out on too.

I use RealFlight G2. Very nice. You can see what it will look like in 3D, and even fly it around! Actually, it helps with testing colors for visibility and everything. Very useful if you have it.

I forgot to mention that if you have Photoshop, you can open the PDF manuals that Great Planes has available for download on their website. Just open the last page of the PDF to whatever size you want and there's the 2-view from the back of their manual.
