Does anyone know if there is a Beachcraft 18 kit out there in 40 to 60 size range. Plans would work but it would be nice to be able to buy a kit. I bashed a TwinStar and the tail of a GP P-38 profile. It flies great and looks similar to the 18. Now I'm ready for a more scale project.
Thanks

American Eagle used to offer one. 82" wingspan. It's still listed on the site. I Saw one at Bomber Field several years agao with a pair of 2stroke .40s in it. Pretty nice model from what I saw. the A/E kits are not stick builts, but rather glass & foam "short kits". the come with the glass pastic, and foam parts, & some instructions. No wood or hardware.

Thanks for the link. The kits look good and the fiberglass fuselage works for me. I have some experience with foam but I think the wings will be the hardest part to build correctly. It looks like the wood work will be minimal.
The D-18 /C-45 American Eagle has listed with a wingspan of 82" shows a picture of a C-46 Commando with a single vertical stabilizer and a wing span of 144" Way too big and not what I'm looking for. I will get in touch with AE and what's up.
The B-25 Mitchell looks sweet. That's a very acceptable alternative to the Beechcraft model 18.

The site was down for a while and may have some glitches. It used to have a pic of a an orange and white C-45. The owner of A/E had a tough time with hurricane Katrina, but he is back up and running now. You can find out more about their kits over at rcscalebuilder.com in the American Eagle forums.

Thanks again for the info and link. It is appreciated. Glad to see that AE is back up and running after Katrina. Looks like they have a nice selection of planes to choose from and I do like the fiberglass fuselages. I've just recently found out about rcscalebuilder.com. There's a plane that a friend wants built that is far beyond my skills... maybe some day. For now the Beech18 has my eye and hopefully I can come up with a nice kit.

Here are some photos of my Twinstar D-18 mod / bash. It flies well with Magnum .52 4c engines and 10 - 8 props. It is on the heavy side but it is ultra stable in the wind. The Magnums sip fuel so a 10 to 12 minute flight is typical. I need just a few clicks on the throttle to bring it in for a smooth landing.
I found a site that has a Beechcraft 18 in the size range I'm looking for. It is electric but I think I can modify it for nitro engines. If all goes well I'll end up going with a larger kit. http://www.kamodels.com/

We have a kit that was produced by Miniature Aircraft Engineering, from the mid 1980's with a 107" wingspan. We are missing plan page 2 of 3, which is the plan for the wing. Does anyone have knowledge of this kit and any way I can obtain page 2 of the plans?
