Nice model.
I did not realize that CG had re-issued this kit.
I checked the CG website, and no mention is made
of this kit.
Does anyone know where these kits are available ?
Thanks .... Bob Shirley

Art ...
My feelings exactly.
I saw the "Mk II" and was hoping they
took the new Falcon 56 wing and tail
sections and produced a Skylark kit,
just like Carl did originally.
Guess the only way left is to "bash"
a newer Falcon 56 into a low wing
Skylark ... darn ... the Skylark is
a real classic and deserves better.

Hi im am the original poster on this board.......
I know this is an old kit becauese my grandpa gave me the kit..
This is the best plane i have....it flies great and aerobatic.
I Enchanced the rudder a little bit.
I saw a ARC Skylark 56 MK II at a swap meet i went to..for $40
Should've bought it

Beware !!
Sometimes the R/C gods are lurking among these
hallowed halls !!
I just picked up a Skylark 56 MKII kit on eBay !!
It was for a tad more than $40 ... but not much.
Time to re-live the adventures of yesteryear !
Hi-ho silver .. away .. who was that masked man ?

Great flying plane, the Skylark. Back in the days of yesteryear and before CA glues, I wanted to get one built faster than titebond would allow, so I built it entirely with a hot melt glue gun! And it stayed together! I've been looking on Ebay for one also.

The Skylark 56 was my first low winger. I learned on a 3 channel Falcon 56 later converted to a 4 channel. I had a ST 35 or 40 in them. After wrecking I bought a Rimfire and inverted the engine. That plane was totally out of my league. After 4 or 5 flights it was declared unfixable, and my RC days were over for a year or 2. The Falcon & Skylark flew quite well, the Rimfire didn't plus the inverted engine gave me all kinds of trouble. Those were the days when ST parts were not easy to come by even if you lived about 35 miles from their US distributor - World Engines.

Doesn't anyone have plans for this plane laying around? I bet you could have a company laser cut the parts and start selling the kit again. Then all of us could have one. By the way, I have the Junior Skylark sitting in my workshop in the states. I built it before I came to Japan. That was 10 years ago. haven't flown it yet.

Ok ... since everyone else is being reminiscent about Skylarks of old ... and since I brought up the thought of "adventures of yesteryear" ... I had better add my two pennies worth:
I learned to fly {all alone .. no other R/C flyers) in the wilds of northeastern Thailand {Nakon Phanom}during the early 1970's. Finally convinced the airbase PX to carry some r/c kits ... and the CG Skylark was among those that they "imported" from the states.
Our flying field was the Thai provincal governor's dirt air strip only a few hundred yards from the Mekong River border with Laos. R/C activities were ocasionally suspended while we watched the Royal Lao AF AT-6's conduct airstrikes against the Pathet Lao troops which held the opposite bank of the river. We also had to clear the strip when the irregularly scheduled Air America C-47 made landings to drop off "supplies" to the local CIA station .... he would buzz the field and we would scramble out of the way.
But the most dangerous hazzard was a herd of water buffalo that called the strip their home ... and also their bathroom. Couldn't concentrate too hard on the bird in the sky ... or else the "squeesh" sound would signify that you had "stepped in it" ... again !!
