Default GP Trainer Sixty

Hi, I have one of these kits I bought when they were first discontinued. I guess sometime I pulled the manual out to look at it and now I was going to start building it finally and no instruction manual. Does anyone have one that they don't need anymore or would mind copying, for a fee of course? I tried GP and it is no longer available from them to buy or as a download. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you've built a couple other kits, you can probably build this one without the instructions. The GP plans are pretty good and the kit is easy to build. Go for it. I recently built an LT-40 without the instructions.

If the kit you have is the PT-60 Kit GPMA0119, the manual and parts list are available for downloading at Great Planes web site.

No, he has the TRAINER 60 - Different plane, but like DR1 said, It's an easy build. Very straight forward.

I have a GP Trainer 60 that I bought in 1983. I built the wing and it was subsequently destroyed by a three year old. I bought a wing kit to replace it. At that time, I was distracted from building until a year ago. I still have the kit, and all the papers and plans. I even still have the K&B 61 in the box! I was going to build it as a winter project this January.

If you cannot get a printed copy anywhere or a pdf copy from the link above that Bax gave you, I can send a photocopy of the pages of the one I have. Let me know.

Also, if they CAN get you a PDF version, send a copy my way!!!

Hi Bion, I tried e-mailing Bax but haven't heard back from him. On GP's website it shows this one as not available like the others are. If you don't mind I would like for you to do that. I will be glad to pay you for your trouble. Let me know and I can send you my mailing adress. Thanks guys.

OK.

I am going to be out tomorrow all day, so I wont be able to get to it till Sunday.

It is my Oldest girls 16th birthday party and I'm taking her and six of her friends to Six Flags Great Adventure. They are riding up and back by limo!!!. Even with the food, tickets, and the limo, it is still cheaper than a catered hall and formal function for 30 kids..

I'll get the copies off on Sunday or Monday. Just send the mailing address by PM.

The email address Bax gave you will help you out. It just may take a few days for them to reply.

I got it framed up but never covered it yet. I've been planning on starting it all winter, just haven't yet.

Picked out a color scheme yet? I'm thinking Red and Blue with black trim for mine.

Finally got time to finish it, flew it for fist time yesterday. I have a Supertigre 90 on it, has unlimited vertical, floats like a dream, overall pleased with it. You ever finish yours?

This and the .40 size GP editions are my favorite Trainer series. For folks that don't know, this is a revamped Bridi RCM Trainer that sports a fully symmetrical and thick airfoil. It's a big *****cat to fly when set up properly, but it is capable of rip-roaring, snarling performance when fitted with a hot or oversized engine and enlarged control surfaces/throws.

You did a nice job on yours.

Very nice! I haven't gotten to mine yet. Building a Thermal Charger at the moment then a 1/4 Scale Super Cub.

I decided to go electric on my Trainer 60. Also I'm planning on building two of them at the same time. As an Uncle of mine has shone some interest in RC so I thought I'd set him up with a nice trainer. As of now he has a funky old Eagle 50 that someone dumped off on him.

This is the eletric setup I'm planning.

Trainer Sixty

Length 51-1/2"
Wing Area 764 SQI
Weight Range 6-8 Pounds
Power 60 2C engine

Stall Speed 24.5 MPH
Top Speed 73.5 MPH

Prop clerance 6.5"
Prop Graupner 12.5X7 3 Blade
8 pound statric thurst.
61MPH Top Speed
951 Watts

Motor
TURNIGY 50-55B 600kv

Thanks guys, yeah I went with larger ailerons with a lot of throw on all the surfaces on dual rates. I also have it set up with 2 aileron servos programmed so I can use them as flaperons or spoilerons. With flaps down it hovers in a 10 mph headwind. I think its gonna be a keeper!

I bought a Trainer 40 kit years ago and finally finished it about ten years later. I came out of a loop (at high speed) and the stabilizer fluttered and broke the right stabilizer at the filet joint. I was still able to land as the covering kept the half of the stab from falling off. I reglued the half of the stab to the fusealage using epoxy and fiberglass. Then the next few flights the other half of the stab broke off. I glassed it also and the plane still flies great. I just try to avoid high speed dives!
