This may not be news to some of ya, but recently I was after a GeeBee Tiger Moth kit. Tower had it in last years catalog on page 48. When I tried to find it in this years catalog, it was missing. I called Tower and it had been discontinued. After speaking with the Tower rep, she gave me a dirrect # to GeeBee Products in MA. I called them and spoke with the owner of GeeBee. This gentleman informed me that they had had a flood (water heater broke) and almost all the tooling and stock was ruined. He said that they had lost all their customers because they couldn't fill the orders. He sounded tired, but told me that even though his "man" had quit, he was trying to get back on line. This kinda broke my heart! Heres another small Mom-n-Pop kit builder that may just say screw-it. (my words, not his) I hope he does not quit! We are loosing thease guys faster than ARFs are produced somewhere else. I plan to send him my contact information and place an order. Here is the address if your intrested. A little moral support couldn't hurt. Didn't catch his name.

I bought a "Dreamer Sport Bipe" from Tower when I had the urge to start hoarding kits for fear of losing the opportunity to do so later. Shortly thereafter, I noticed they were unavailable. I'd buy another if it would help bring Gee Bee Products back again.

My Feedback: (85)
That's sad news. I built their Seahawk maybe seven or eight years ago. Powered with a LA40. Don't fly off the water anymore but still fly it off the snow. In fact it's in the back of my van. Waiting for tomorrow. Don't think there is enough snow so i bro plane with wheels also.

I wondered what happened to the Gee Bee kits, I hate to buy kits just to have on hand but it looks like it is becoming more and more prudent to do so.
Even if a company does not go out of business, very often they will drop a product to focus on something else. The Venture 60 comes to mind, it was always one of those someday planes as was the Dreamer ........ then suddenly without warning it is gone.
