Hey Chevy, at first, it looked like you'd have this thing done in three days, and now we haven't heard from you in ages.
What's going on with your 4*?

Last I heard of him , he was out flying . Flying does get in the way of building , unless the only plane you have is the one your building .

I just bought a used 4 star .40 and I'm not sure if it's balanced correctly (no plans). I remember something about it should balance at the main wing spar and it does, more or less. When I flew it, it was nosing up quite a bit and I had to apply a lot of down trim, but it still didn't seem quite right. I later applied about 2 degrees down thrust (washers under rear lug screws) and that helped somewhat but it's still a little squirrely. The airframe seems straight and true. Does anyone know what the C/G ought to be?

Since I stopped the build I have gotten 3 new planes... So I have been FLYING! ALOT. I have also got A nice workplace set up and a place to finally PUT all my airplanes. today I got some much needed progress on the Four Star... I finally got the landing gear attached, I got the top sheeting done, installed the fuel tank floor, finally epoxied the firewall in, finally made the holes for the torque rods to go into the ailerons, and got a problem with the wing mounting almost figured out... Well heres some pictures of the Four Star so far! and some pictures of my new "shop"
hope everyone gets back to followin the build!
Also just to let everyone know.. I have a brand new Parkzone Typhoon 2 that should be here tomorrow! as well as a reciever ready Seagull Model Extra 300 brushless ON THE WAY!!

K now heres the wing mount problem.... I had to tear off the old wood blocks that the wing would attatch to.. so now I have to re-do the whole thing.... Im gonna try to use little brass threaded inserts and stick them into blocks of ply and epoxy them on... do you think this will be good? thanks

Hey Chevy, glad to see you're back. Congrats on all the new toys, and i've actually got the seagull extra. Great flying plane. Im using an 1100kv motor, 40 amp esc, 3 cell 2100mah pack and a 10x5 prop. I wish I had a watt meter to give some exact numbers but I dont. I tried an 11x5.5 prop but didn't see much of an increase in power. One thing to do before assembling is reinforce the tail feathers. I didn't think I needed to either until the horizontal stabilizer and elevator cracked straight through in the middle of a flight. I know it sounds like a pain but reinforce the stabilizer/elevator before it happens. It will be well worth it.
