I have never built a kit. I have repaired several and have covered a few. I would really like to build one. I am considering the Tower Hobbies Uproar 60. I had a 40 (bought used) and loved the way it flew - before it flew into the ground. The wings can be removed on the 60. Question is - Is the 60 a good kit to start with? Has anybody built one? Has anybody flown one? Thanks for the help.

I have a 40 size I cut from someones plans it flies well,so I bought the 60 size kit. I almost have it framed up . It was an easy frame up . I added about an inch to the rudder ,and put the hatches on the bottom. I changed the gear mount to 3 nylon bolts. I did the 40 that way too.

I built one and had a ball with it...
Only two suggestions
1. On the prints it showes two positions for the landing gear one for grass and one for pavment..."use the grass" (If I'm right it's the position most towards the firewall) Cause if ya don't and the plane is balanced it'll nose over on landing every time...
2. If they have not changed the prints it showes no sheeting over the ribs next to the fuse...SHEET at least the first two bays...cause if ya don't the ribs will warp and pull when ya shrink the covering and it's a mess building up the ribs so they match the fuse sides...
With a Sato 91 to balance it the battery had to be in the tail just forward of the elevator...
See ya..
