Maybe someone else can answer up for you. I had to put my build up and haven't gotten back around to it yet. Now it's cold and snowing out, the garage get's VERY cold out there.

My Uproar 60 is powered with a ST G-90-its not overwhelming-don't see why the 1.20 would not work-except you may have a balance problem with heavier 4 stroke-you can always build a hatch back towards fin area and move battery to tail section. Not sure about ground clearance for larger prop for 1.20, check that aspect before you go too far. I used some old landing gear from another plane, so there is a way around GC also-mine uses a 13/7, a 14/6 might work, but it would be close as I fly off grass. Great plane and loads of fun-let us know what you decide.

I was born and raised in Houston. A frigid 42 you say? We are suppose to have a high in the mid to upper 20s over the next few days. I don't remember ever shoveling snow in 42 degrees either. But that is chilly, LOL.

We actually had a good freeze in the last couple days... just 31, but the windchill put it into the low 20's. We even had some heavy snow a couple weeks ago.
Plane:
I plan on using a large diameter prop but low pitch to keep the RPMs and torque up. If I use the 16x8, it will probably hover at half throttle.... I want this plane to be slow, but plenty of power.... I intend on getting taller gear.

Hey all... I just started my build and I think I found some good ideas. I was planning on a Saito 100 or a RCV .90 with a BIG OL PROP. Plane might look funny with giraffe landing gear

I had a Uproar .60 and it would hover pretty good but I modified the rudder by adding an extra 1" in length.

By the way; like the photo. I'm a BSG fan, sorry to hear it is leaving.

Thanks, I love the show and espically Starbuck
. I think the final reveal will be we are "all cylons". "But" back to the topic, lol, I think adding the inch on the rudder helped it along with the Supre Tigre .90 to hover . I modded the rudder as I was building it so I can't say how much difference it made. It can't hurt really so I do recommend stretching the rudder a 1".

I actually haven't started my build yet. I was "coerced" into buying a combat mustang and then "forced" to buy an OS 32 with Nelson Tuned Pipe... Now I'm "forced" to get this thing under control. Once i have my mustang saddle-broken (or just broken) I'll clean off the building board are work on the uproar again.
Yes giraffe gear is going to be the need with the prop, and yes, I've already drawn all over my plans to mod the ailerons. I was considering adding some tail weight to the verticle stabe or fuse in the rear during the build. Its going to need it....
For those that have already built one, how fast is the build? Any problems that typically show up?

Deadeye,
My cable company just changed our lineup so I don't get the Sci-Fi channel anymore. However, they do have BSG on OnDemand so I can still watch it, just have to do it on Sat night instead of Fri.
I put my build on the shelf for now. It's just too darn cold out in the garage and it's too big to think about heating. I'm down to building the fuse and also finish sanding. I'll get back on it when it warms up a bit.
I haven't thought of doing any mods to the plane. I was going to build it per the plans and then do probable mods to the control surfaces later.

You will love it. The Uproar is a"Ulgy Stick" cousin and will fly great. Also I just finished my pet project. I built a Eindecker .60 size as well as my flying buddy did, here is a link if you want to read it, its the ultimate "Ugly Stick" lol, http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6368563/tm.htm
By the way this may not be related but if you wish to watch BSG "Free", go to scifi.com and go to the episode download section. There you can watch episodes that have previously aired.

LOL, yeah I have watched a few episodes on their website before.
But I figured I paid for this 52" plasma so why watch on a 19" computer monitor. The ondemand episodes are free so not that big of a deal really.

UPDATE!!!
I've long since finished my Uproar with the Magnum 1.20. Its AWESOME.. I call it my lazy plane. It just floats around. I put a 5 cell 6v, 2000mah batter all the way back in the tail, just in front of the tail servos. I also added the mods to the ailerons making them go all the way to the fuse. I increased the rudder size by 1 inch and added giraffe landing gear.
It flies great. I have an anoying problem with fuel leaking at my carb for some reason. Doesn't affect idle, transition, or full throttle, but still, fuel is leaking... gonna have to fix that.
I put the gear on with 1/4-20 nylon bolts in anticipation of a pancake at some point. I was right. The 1.20 gives me almost unlimited veriticle with a 16x4, true unlimited veriticl with a 16x6. I need to move the CG back tho. Not getting very good spins, or Walls, or Harriers.... very stable,... need to add more stupidity to the plane.. LOL..
OH.. and to heck with the stock throws. I put my low rates about 20% over recommended, and Maxed out the High rates. It reponds well....
