Kits

This forum is to discuss the building of kits. For sale ads in the discussion forum's are in violation of the posting rules of RCU. If you have a kit for sale, the RCU market place is a great place to sell your stuff. You can post an ad for free and the Market Place is a great way to sell things. As for finding a kit that you want, once again the Market Place is a great resource. You can also read the threads and sometimes members will mention that they have a kit they might be willing to part with, however all talks about the sale of the kit need to be done in private. RCU does recomend the Market Place as it allows you to leave a bad rating for an RCU member if the deal goes south. Good Luck, Dave

Just to further elaborate, the reason that for sale ads are prohibited in the forums is to prevent commercial sellers from continually posting ads and interupting the forum traffic. Since it is hard to make exceptions, no one gets to post ads.
I have found that the occasional mention of an item for sale seldom gets much interest from a mod, but doing it repeatedly will cause you problems. Also, if you are interested in something, send a PM to the member in question. There is no rule against discussing commerce in private messages.

Here is what I see, as there is no place to ask if someone has something that you are looking for HOW would you!

What about folks that want to trade straight across? If there is a location on RCU's site for this, then I have been missing it for many years.

you can also post items for trade in the RCU market place if you want something in particular just make a note in the add your posting, there are quite alot of items with notations about desire for trade rather than cash,I had a Hangar-9 mustang I got for a deal and ended up trading it for a pumped OS 120Surpass engine.
the cost was a wash, since the ARF cost me what the advertiser wanted for the engine.
I wanted the motor and he got the plane he wanted, we were both happy with the deal we recieved and I didn't have to deal with selling the plane I didn't need, to get the money for the engine I did need.

Maybe it is my old age getting to me, or my state of health (same thing in my case), but as much as I love RCU in principle, I find it very difficult to navigate and very nonintuitive to use.
There are times when I don't want to mess with looking for an hour and a half to find out how a feature works, or even exists. I just want to do it.
I suppose the real problem is that what is good for me, is not necessarily profitable for RCU. We know who will win that fight.
