I'm building sort of a second plane. Built many planes, flew few. I first learned to fly on the PT-20 about 15 years ago and want to hotrod this one after re-learning with my new trainer. (Hobbico Superstar) Can anyone tell me how to build the PT-20 as a tail dragger?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I have not built the 20 size. I did build the 40 size 1ST generation kit. So take this with a grain of salt. I would move the landing gear block forward untill the wheel axles are even with the leading edge of the wing. Add a small piece of light ply at the tail for a tail wheel bracket. Add a Dubro or Sullivan tailwheel bracket and wheel. Anchor the top of the wire on the bracket into the rudder and you should be set to go. I did this to a Tiger 2. Worked like a charm. Good luck with the bash. Should make a great flying plane.

GaryHarris, I have built two PT-40s. One as a taildragger with rear-mounted servos and the other the traditional tricycle gear. I am currently helping someone by email building his with great success. If you would like help in building yours feel free to email me and I will help you all I can. [email protected]

Thanks. But I just took all those warped pieces of sticks and stomped the crap out of them including the ones missing if I had them. I'm so angy at Great Planes I E Mailed them with my dissapointment with this kit. Get this. 5 main spars and only one trailing edge. And the spars look like horse shoes. [sm=angry.gif]

Instead of destroying the kit, it would have made more sense to return the kit for a replacement. Nice to know you have the money to throw away.
