RE: AMR MONSTER STICK
Wingspan: 144"
Fuselage: 110"
Wing area: 4320 sq inches wing cord is 29 1/2"
Stab area: 880 sq inches
Engine size: 100 to 150cc
Weight with 150 cc: 45 pounds
Laser cut
8" inflatable wheels ( 46 onces for two)
3" Tailwheel ( 9 onces )
Plug-in stab and wing
aluminum 6061-T6 tube ( 15 onces )
With 100cc it will need more weight near the firewall, and a lighter tailwheel,
We will use Solartex covering, aileron are full lenght, it will be easy to cover the wings with the 27" wide solartex but we will coat the airframe with balsarite.

WOW, this is impressive. I stared at that last picture for about 20 seconds until I realized I was looking at the tail wheel and not the main wheels. This thing is massive. I'm going to keep an eye on this thread.

Michel, you were trying to decide if a 100cc would be too light. It occured to me that maybe for a lighter engine you should consider a tricycle gear arrangement. Remove the tailwheel and add a nose wheel and shift the main gear back a couple of inches. Is it possible when we order the kit to get main gear that is wider? I've found when flying in crosswinds and trying to taxi a good 36" span main gear really helps. Keeps the bird from wanting to tip a wing when the wind get under it on the ground. Look forward to seeing it covered and in the air.
Thanks, Jerry.
Thanks, Jerry.

RE: AMR MONSTER STICK
Hello Jerry, this morning we check the cg at 30 % and 33% , with the zdz 160 champion, at 30% we add near 3 pounds of lead , ner the firewall, but we have small 2700nimh batteries( 2 ) one for the ignition, the other one for the rx, the giant tailwhhel , weight 9 onces with a 4" wheels, if i unscrew and install a 1 1/2" Ohio tailwheel, it balance without the 3 pounds lead.
Another thing to consider, the zdz is light.
At 33% balance point, only 26 onces required,
Without the big tailwheel and with the smallest one, no lead needed.
Than , we consider thast the DL110cc at 8.5 pounds with batteries pack upfront, it is a perfect match with a small tailwheel instead og the big we got.
Another thing to consider, our prototype was build with the 6mm liteply ribs, we did a redesing those ribs 60% lighter, saving near 18 onces total , fuse to got rework for at leat a pounds lighter.
I saw a company ( faults gear ,i am not shure who have all kinds of nose wheels attach )
This week end we will prepare the structure for covering.
Our 42% J3Cub prototype weihgt 55 pounds, the 3w112cc engine with a 28-10 fly this airplane at lees than half the throttle.
The DL110cc will do the job. The stick is much lighter. The wing loading is near 22 oz/sq foot.
Critics and suggestions are welcome, it give us more ideas
Thanks
Michel

RE: AMR MONSTER STICK
Hello,
We did fly it, we will do a video next week-end.
The new production series will be lighter a bit. Manual is not quite finish, more pictures will be added.
