Hey, Tinman. Don't ever, ever feel like you need to apoligize for a "newbie" question. Really, or anybody else as far as that goes. I've seen guys on here that have well over a 1000 posts (me included) that will always have questions. I've put together many kits & ARFs & one from plans ( I don't think I'll do that again), that I couldn't have done with all these guys help!! There are always helpfull hints, shortcuts, different ways to do things, etc. that come out of these posts. That's what's sooo great about this hobby-obsession, sport, whatever ya want to call it. Whether you do ARFs, kits, scratch build, or anything else. Everybody will have a problem they've never seen or a particular "don't like to do" because they have a problem doing it. One of my major weaknesses is "balanceing". It seems like no matter what or how I do it, it ALWAYS is a pain in the butt for me.

I was up at 5am this morning, getting myself dressed to go out to my shop and "piddle" with stuff... just trying to get it all straight before my kit gets here...
I heard my wife kinda groan and move on her side of the bed... she says, "Don, you know its 5am and still dark, right?" i said, "yep honey, but i gotta get to my shop..."

She left this morning for a "girls trip"... i wished her luck and continued my work in the shop... of course, that was after i gave her my credit card!!! DDOOHHH!!! [X(]
anyway... man, im stoked and can not wait... ive been watching the tracking numbers and wish i had ordered it a day earlier... that would have ment i coulda started building TODAY... [:@]
oh well... i gotta learn patients, might as well start TODAY!!!
thanks again... everyone has been very very helpful and useful already, and i dont even have a kit in my hands yet... LOL
cant wait, cant wait!!!
thanks for the video... things like that will be helpful when i get discouraged and burnt out...

Man, you've got it bad !!!! I've never, ever had it that bad. Well, OK.,maybe a couple of times. Once I couldn't wait for UPS to deliver. You know if ya follow the tracking #s, sometimes you can go to the UPS depot & pick up your package BEFORE it gets on that stinking slow delivery truck. Yup,I've done that more than once. A buddy was taking his wife to the hospital to deliver their baby ( it was their 3rd). Before he left,he had to leave a note for the UPS guy so he would leave his plane for him. I'm glad our kids are all raised. I'm afraid if in the same situation, I might have to tell the wife to go ahead,I'll be a little late !!! HaHaHa. Maybe not, but I definitly would leave a note ! Ain't it great hobby !!!!!!

yeah man, ive got it bad, i gotta say... plus, today, the weather is PERFECT... i really should be out flying, but i cant get myself outta the shop... i just know that when that airplane arrives (looks like Monday) ill be too anxious to get it out and inventory everything & that i wont want to be straighting up the shop!
i dont wanna be tryin to find all my tools, rig up MORE lighting, rig up my refrigerator, sweep the floor, make sure frigerator is COOLING, sweep some more, rig up the fan, check frig again, make sure my iPod is loaded with Willie, Waylon, and the boys, make sure my heater is gonna work in December, etc, etc, you get the point...

i just wanna be some kinda organized, at least for a minute... i say "for a minute", because ive seen some of yalls "work areas" and know that soon enough, mine will be just like yalls!!! [sm=shades_smile.gif]
yeah, i have picked up pkgs from UPS before... and i might have to do that come Monday morning...
AND, heres a shot of the full shop... not that yall care, but, im posting it anyway... LOL

Dont forget the Saito 100!
hahah Gary... aint no doubt... ive been looking at them and it is high on my list...
heres a quick question about it though... ive got a chance to get a brand new Magnum .91 FS for $150.00... whats your thoughts on this??? would you skip the .91 and go for the 100???

My Feedback: (1)
I know your question was aimed at Gary, but I'd like a stab at your question.
I don't think you could compare the Manum to the Saito. It would be like comparing a Saito to a YS.
I personally really like Magnum engines. They are really comparable to OS. If you are competition minded, the Saito would be the better choice. It is a lighter engine and does not have a piston sleeve. They chrome line the bore. This save a lot of weight. Both are VERY reliable.
The only other question is how much can you afford. High performance comes with a hefty price tag too. If you are not worried about the money, go YS 1.10.
Otherwise the Saito has a much stronger thrust to weight ratio and you will get more out of it than the Magnum. Not to mention the added C.I.D.

I have a Magnum .52 4C that has been an excellent engine and when building my 4*, I was seriously considering getting the Magnum .91. I bit the bullet and got the Saito 100 anyway. I have no regrets!
With 30% heli fuel I can take off in 10 feet and go unlimited vertical. I just love that engine!
And its so pretty! [8D]

Is OUR kit here yet Don? [&:]
Is OUR kit here yet Don? [&:]
LOL
yes sir, OUR box of sticks arrived this afternoon and has been ALL accounted for, or better put, inventoried and marked...
as i marked all pieces, it seemed like it was going to be a piece of cake... THEN, i unfolded the plans and was AWESTRUCK...
i read through the online manual over the weekend... then just glanced through the book tonight while doing inventory... the book seems easy to understand... but the plans on the other hand look difficult... although, ive never looked at a set of plans, so i guess thats normal...
looks like ill have to wait till thursday or friday to actually start the construction, due to a couple of meetings i have Tues and Weds afternoon/night...
but anyway, its here and im eager to get started... I CANT WAIT!!! stay tuned!!!
