What size tank for my astro hog ?
I have a 12oz. in her now. On Sunday I had to
dead stick her in. I could not believe it but she
was out of fuel. She's just under 8 lbs. ,running
a Saito 82. I have a new 20 oz. tank in the hangar
but I don't think it will fit.
Wish I had a LHS, but don't. Thanks for your input.

I've read that the 82 is "thirsty" but would have thought 12 ounces would be more than enough for 10 to 12 minute flights.
The Tower site has the dimensions for a lot of the tanks they carry, so it should be fairly easy to find something that will work.
Dubro
14 ounce
Height: 2-3/8"
Width: 2-11/16"
Length: 5-3/8"
16 ounce
Height: 2-3/8"
Width: 2-11/16"
Length: 5-7/8"
Hayes
13 ounce
Height: 2.62"
Width: 2.25"
Length: 5.12"
16 ounce
Height: 2.125"
Width: 2.750"
Length: 6.250"
I got tired of copying before I got to Sullivan but their dimensions are also listed.

Thanks Carrell,
Yea, the 82 is thirsty. I may have just lost
track of time on that flight. When I went up
I had the field to myself. Then a instructor and
student fired up a trainer next to me and let run
for a while. Then decided they would taxi out.
They lolly gaged around as I was circling to land.
When they yelled taking off, I yelled Dead Stick.
Had to make a cross runway landing, talk about
nerve racking lol.

The Astro Hog has a huge tank area so you should easily be able to go to 14 ounces, possibly even 16. I think mine had a 12 ounce, with OS 70.
Several guys in our club have these http://www.talkingtimer.com and they seem to like them.

Thanks Carrell,
I'll take a timer with me next time.
I'm going out to the hangar in a bit.
I'll do some measuring on the hog.
My OS 70 sips fuel compared to the
Saito 82.

Hey Carrell,
Well I pulled the tank and the mystery is
solved. I run a piece of fuel tubing then
a short piece of brass tubing and then a short
piece of fuel tubing connected to the clunk.
The clunk and fuel tubing and short piece of
brass tubing seperated from the first piece of
fuel tubing. One piece of fuel tubing connected
to the clunk will be installed tomorrow.
BTW, there was a 1/4 tank of fuel in her when I
pulled the tank.
