Like the size of the micro but am hooked on gas.
Thinking of installing a .061 2 cycle. Would it need stiffening? I think double the firewall, reinforce front of fuse with some epoxied on 1/64th ply and extend sheer webs on the wings.
Also want strip ailerons.
Thoughts?

Designed as an electric powered model, there are plenty of "holes" in the front that will require sealing if glow/diesel power is used. If you haven't considered a model Diesel, give the Davis Diesel Development conversion head a try. Fitted to a Norvel .061 with throttle will give you a truly great flying IC engine powered micro Telemaster with its quiet, yet strong, performance and excellent throttling. Any conversion head for a Cox .049 will fit the Norvel .061 perfectly.
Yes, it would need some stiffening, but sealing the front with balsa pieces will provide much of the extra strength needed. A little triangle stock around the firewall wouldn't hurt either.
I have all of the Telemasters except the Micro. I'm off to find a kit of the Micro right now. And yes, I have the throttled Norvel .061 and the Davis Diesel Development conversion head already. If you decide to go this way, tell him that I sent you. Good luck and good flying.

I have a G Mark .061. Never ran. But the diesel idea is intereting.
Good point too about reversing the lightening stuff. I think I'll laminate some 1/64 ply to the front of the fuselage. Guess I will have some weight to play with with no battery.
