Thanks for posting those pics Cliff, looking forward to to your next visit!

FlyerInOKC 09-18-2013 04:39 AM

Thanks for the eye candy Cliff! Good looking plane!

raptureboy 09-18-2013 04:45 AM

Me too! Hopefully I can bring a plane next time. Sorry it took so long to get these going. A digital SLR camara uses a format called R.A.W and needs to be converted to a jpeg file and then needs to be reduced to a file small enough for RCU. I had to get software to convert the file types, and my son apparently does not know how to do this. Guess I taught the wipper snapper something;)

Ok

Great job on the pics there Cliff! Just to pretty to fly...

raptureboy 09-19-2013 04:40 PM

Man up now buddy! You can't let this one just sit there and leave us all in agony. I have to give Dan my son the credit for the pictures though he is a perfectionest. Now if I could get him to build my planes they would look as good as yours. LOL

Has anyone built the 90" Ryan STA offered by A & M Models?

Yank II do have any idea what the price is for the 90" STA? I can't find a price list on the site.

Has Private Ryan flown?

VincentJ 11-07-2013 05:25 AM

126jp, in short no... Everyboby need a hangar queen looks like I have mine! Right now I'm getting pleasure just looking at it displayed in my finished basement, it's sitting right next to it's bigger brother the Spacewalker. BTW, the Spacewalker has flown...LOL

Nothing wrong with hangar queens.

I have a "few" myself.

VincentJ 11-07-2013 05:29 AM

LOL, yes you do Tom! I'm in good company then...

126jp 11-07-2013 05:30 AM

I can't blame you Vince. I'm working on a 33% scale project and if it turns out nearly as nice as yours I don't know that I'll dare take it even outside.
Jules

I don't know about "good", but you do have company !

acerc 11-07-2013 11:35 AM

Ha! My current build may not even leave the shop, other than to run the engine and dream.

Cub Flyer Fresno 11-07-2013 05:44 PM

Ah, come on guys! What good is a plane if it doesn't fly? It needs to be flown at least once before making it a hanger queen. Even the Spruce Goose flew once before it was hangered for good!

Yank II 11-11-2013 08:22 PM

This just came up on ebay

Yup. A good reason to fly, is to create more room in the shop for a new build.

FlyerInOKC 11-12-2013 06:37 AM

I like you attitude Tom! Hey YANK II there has been one on this site since 11/1/13 for $225 and the box looks in better shape. I believe it sold this weekend. At that price I hope the Ebay seller and the kit grow gracefully together. The one on this site is only lasted this long because I was too broke to buy it! :(

raptureboy 11-12-2013 08:59 AM

Theres a guy who has been selling a pica 1/5 spitfire for months. He keeps asking $900 for it  I guess he does'nt really want to sell it and this way he can show his wife he's trying to get rid of some planes but no one is buying.;) I refuse to pay 3-4 times the orig price of a kit because someone thinks it's "rare" what good is it if it just stays in the box? If I want an investment I will buy gold. If the guys in topgun can fly them after spending big $$$ and thousands of hours then I can fly my toys:rolleyes:
