I fly at about 1/3 to 1/2 throttle most of the time.
I'll Try to get a couple of pics on tomarrow or the next day

Hi dannafinance, I bet that sun dancer with 3.2 will be a great flying plane. How about posting a picture of it when you get it ready. I think your 2.4 should fly the stinger fine. It is 4 horsepower I think. I have a friend who flew a stinger with a US 41 and it flew o.k. but it didnt have much verical. The 41 is 3 h.p. I will be getting back on my fuselage tonight. WAYNE

Sun Dancer biplane ready to go. Waiting on weather to cooperate.

Man that is a real good looking bipe. I have a phaeton 90 biplane with a os91 on it, could use more power. I had a builder with our old club build it back in 87. I knew he could do a much better job on it than me. I fly it once in a while when the weather is nice. Started working on my fuselage today and looks like my wing saddle will have to be trimed a little. I also did my hinges for the wing and tail section. That is part of building I dont like, but it came out well. Later Wayne

I fitted my wing to the fuse last night. I had to trim the fuse a little and also had to sand the trailing edge of the wing so it would sit down in the saddle.

Well, that makes me feel better, I though maybe mine was cut short. I will have to trim about 1/8 off the back of wing saddle. thanks Wayne

Hi Dannafinance. I finally got my wing ready to cover and tail section. Most of the bottom half of the fuselage is done. I had to recess the bottom of the firewall to clear the slimline wraparound muffler. It has created a problem with the gas tank being a little high. I know with a glow engine yhe tank has to be slightly below the center line. Can you or anyone tell me if a gas engine with warbro carb. is critical about the tank position. Will a pumper carb. flood with the tank set 1/2 inch high. I will start the plastic parts next and the instructions are not to clear on how to fix them. Wayne

I do not think you will have anything to worry about with a gas engine. I ran out of epoxy and have not joined the wing yet. I have tail surfaces covered. I am fiberglassing the plastic parts. The directions are not good on what to do with them. I hope to get the fuse covered this weekend.

Wow, That is a good looking job of covering. I plan on just making mine red and white with some stripes on it. I am not the best at covering kits. I may get some help with this one. Glad you dont think the tank will be a problem. I looked for a square tank at the hobby shop but didnt find one. My 24 oz. tank will fit but a little high. Wayne

HI dannafinance, I have covered the tail section and just fiberglassed the wing center. all my hinges are in place but not glued yet. I am ready to cover the wing and fuselage after more sanding. I am waiting to do the plastic parts last. Will we have to notch out the turtle deck for the horizonal stab. Looks like it will to me but the plans are not clear. I have not glued the stab on the fuse. yet but that is the next step on mine. Wayne

Stinger weighs about 11lbs minus engine, radio equipment, fuel tank and covering. I use 1/4" ply to double the front of the fuse. I also fiberglassed all ABS parts. It is quite a bit lighter than I thought it would be.

Hi Dannafinance, I just epoxyed the tail section on mine tonight. I have not weighted mine yet, but will when the glue drys and will post the weight. I used the fiber coated spruce rails and am curious to see if it is lighter. I just hope mine is not heavier. will post later. Wayne

Well, Mine is at 10 lbs. and i still have to add engine, covering, radio, feul tank. wheels and smoke system. Looks like we will be about the same weigh. Wayne

Hi Tim, I got your e-mail. I have my stinger covered and all hinges glued in. The control surfaces work well with good travel. I am going to use button head screws to fasten the turtle deck so I can remove it to get to the rear area if I need to. I have the servos installed and control rods connected. All I have left is engine installation, cowel, and smoke and radio to be installed in position to balance the plane in the C.G. range. Wayne

Hi Dannafinance, I almost have my stinger done. I just have to hook up smoke system and servos. I am going to get a friend to take pictures of it. How do you post them on this tread? I weighed it again with everything in place and it is right at 18lbs. I dont know where all that weight came from, same thing I say about my own weight. I was able to put a picture of a 120 stinger that I got used with a US41 engine on my gallery, but cant figure out how to post it here. Hope you can tell me. Thanks Wayne

Click on the post reply button. You can them upload a picture. If you use the fast reply the upload option is not available. I ran out of covering and have not finished covering my wing yet. I thought I had enough but miss calculated a little.

The Stinger looks great. I am wishing mine was ready to fly. Maybe I'll make it by the summer. I will send pictures of mine soon. I have almost completed covering the wing.
