I just aquired one of these things, well my wife did, brand new still in the box with the servo pack. I don't know if it is worth it but she gave $100.00 for it, I told here I could have spent that money on my raptor 60v2, I was just watching it on EBAY and the auction was about to end and for some reason she bid on it while I was at work without checking with me first and won
. Does anyone have any experience with this heli, what are the pros and cons of this light wieght heli, any info would be greatly appreciated.

hi. i have one of these. mine is the glo version,,
is yours the electric type ?
these are quite good as cheep helis go...the are very crashable. im not so keen on the mechanicle tail mine has because it dooesnt hold it all that well so i might put a light 180 csm gyro in one day.. still great fun though none the less.what sort of questions do you need to have answered btw i will try my best to answer if i can..

The one she bought is glow, I was just trying to get everyone's opinion on it, to see if it is even worth messing with or not. I am more into the larger helis like my raptor 60, even though I do have a couple of tricked out DF 36s sitting around, you know with the brushless motor and all aluminum head and tail, they don't get much flying time, mostly shelf time.

well i fly mostly 50s n 60s too but i like the smallness of these too as youcan fly these in your garden without the neighbors getting worried of it crashing into there home ect. funny though as their engine is still perhaps a bit noiseyer then say a raptor 60 . the engines can be a bit tempermentle sometimes too.. use a good fuel with aprox 15 persent nitro and use a filter on the fuel and it should be fine. i run mine on 20 percent and its fine i think but if you do get more nitro then put in another copper O'ring to lower the compresion a tad...
btw you can get loads of spares on german ebay for these and also i see you can get scale fuselages .i might get one one day

Yes I do like the Hughes 500 fuselages, I am putting one together right now that I will install one of my DF 36 mechanics in, it is a DARTHDRK fuselage, I would like to get a thunder tiger MD500 for my 60 those look really nice.

I think you will find you will want to put a gyro on it... The mechanical one on the tail is not powerful enough... And it does not do well with fast forward flight. will nose up on you... I have learned to hate the engine that came with it and I converted mine. The small glo engine and clutch gave me nothing but trouble. I found it ran best on O'Donal's brand fuel... Good luck with it, but I would venture to say you will "lay with it" or a while then put it up and get out your larger birds.

I loved the heli but hated the engine. The norvel engies, at least teh v-max 7, never ran well for me. I had my heli fall out of the sky more times than i can count. But they are extremely durable. I have smashed mine into to the ground, even from 100 feet with only a bent tail boom.
I am converting to electric though, and hope it works better.
