I purchased a used Corona last summer and had a bunch of fun trying to learn to fly it. I don't have a lot of time to devote to the hobby so I'm still pretty lousy at flying but I'm still having fun (and still crashing a lot). Anyway, I'm starting to get frustrated with my barebones Corona which has a penchant for glitching, seems to suffer from lack of power and only flys for about 8 minutes before I'm out of juice. I'm looking for suggestions on where to start with upgrades. Budget is still pretty tight so, I can't go wild but I do think its time to start swapping out some of the old equipment.
Here's what I have right now:
- Corona 120 with an aluminum crutch
- Standard wire drive for the tail rotor
- Standard main drive gear and shaft
- Atomic Force brushed motor with the standard ESC
- 7 cell NiMh batteries
- Hitec HS81 metal gear servos
- Hobbico Command Dual Conversion 7 channel RX
- Futaba 6 channel TX
- Heli-Max Piezo Gyro
As I said, I don't spend enough time on this hobby to get really serious just yet but I would really like ot have my Corona behave itself when its off the ground.

Hello,
I would start with a belt drive for the tail rotor. A a battery pack with bigger capacity will give you longer flight times.
best regards,
