Default LST tear down/build up (Hard Ano)

Ok, so i decide to get a jump start on the project. I realized that i need to tear this whole truck down for this project. So, i've got the front end pile, and the rear. I'll try to keep as much together as possible. Here are some pics of where its at right now. I'll post more later when its down to where it needs to be. Tomorrow i'll post pics as i put it together, or maybe just one finished pic. So say goodbye to the silver chassis. Its the last time you'll see it on my truck.

I'll take more time on the pics as i build it up. These kinda sucked!

Great pictures. I want to see the Hard Ano plates next to the stock chassis plates when you have them all apart.

I'll be honest with ya. I dont know what the weight difference will be, if any at all. I dont know if these hard ano'd parts are made of a different material, or if thicker, etc. I just know they are Hard ano'd, and will look really cool. lol

In the second pic, what is the thing coming out of the left side of the diff? It's purple.

Looks like an X-acto laying on the table and the camera angle just makes it look like it's attached to the diff.

Stebog is right. Its an xacto blade. Just sitting on the table. Its pretty much all in pieces now. I just have to wait for the UPS truck tomorrow. They usually come early.

I also picked up some of the Hard anod. skids for the front, center and rear. The front and rear are made out of a different material than stock it looks a lot smoother(no texture) and has almost a golden tan color to it the front has protection for the servos and the rear has kick up to protect the rear diff from debris, the center skid looks different from the f&r skids it has a darker color and has the same texture as stock but has a skid for the exhaust pipe and the spur gear cover built into it.

I also saw the bead lock rings at my LHS they had red and gold, at 25.00 for a set of 4 rings.

Definitly the right thing to do. Seal the engine, and get to know how it is built. Improve here and there.....And I did not do that...wish i did. Your smart.

Ok guys, been putting this together today. First off, for anybody ordering the complete chassis, you need TWO of the LOSB2262. I was unsure if any of these packages had 2 pieces, so i just ordered them by description, and was short. Oh well, gave me another reason to order the HIGH performance brake pads. Anyway, i gotta tell ya. These parts blew me away. The design has changed, the colors are sick, and they just look amazing. The front lower skid now covers the steering setup. Nice! The rear lowr skid now has a kick up. The center lower skid now has protection for that opening on the gear cover, and protection for the pipe. All those pieces also say Team Losi on them. Very sick! The upper plate, and main chassis look equally stunning. Im very glad i bought these parts. Check it out.

Bottom plate!

Nice shot of the pipe guard!

As you can see here, the rear upper plate is still stock. Atleast until i get the plate im missing.

All the chassis components are the same color, with the exception of the gunmetal bottom center skid.

Rear lower skid!

I certainly didnt feel any real weight difference. There is more material on some parts, so it should weigh more. Im very happy with the purchase. More pics after dinner!

I just noticed you have the first Gen chassis braces. You might want to check into getting the newer ones. Just a thought, since you have it all apart.

What's the difference between the ones you got Matt, and the High Perf Hard Anodized Plates that are not yet available (due late January)?

Jefx, i wish i could answer that. I bought all this stuff, with the exception of the chassis, sight unseen... I did order the Hi performance breaks earlier today while i ordered the other top plate i need. If i had to guess, i'd say the Hi performance parts are going to be milled out, and lighter. These parts i have are all the Heavy Duty parts. Some of the HI-perf parts include a CF chassis. Could be interesting for a racer to really lighten it up. Here's a couple more pics.
