Well I just read over the whole manual since i was bored and let me say it probably was the shortest manual i ever read lol. anyway would the viscous diffs be a good idea to do for the lst2? I very much doubt ill be doing any racing due to the fact that the only truck near me is far away. Also I read bits and peices of the remove the washer sticky but the only parts i saw said lst not lst 2 and i also read that same newer motors didnt have the washer? Do i have this washer? also i just have one more tank to run for the break in until i can start tunning (damn rain) any good setup tips i can tweak since it is raining today?

there is no washer in the lst2 motor so you good there. as far as setup tip's keep your temp's between 220-250 and you'll be good.
make sure you locktite EVERY metal to metal screw on the driveline and check them often. i check mine everyday i run it. make sure your wheel nuts are tight. and what ever you do DON'T tinker with the radio settings i did and before i knew it i had it very very messed up. make sure you go through the book for the radio 2 or 3 times to get a handle on how it works. there is a guy on here called 2dmaxlst he is the man to ask about anything lst related.

Removing the grease and adding 30,000 wt Silicone Diff oil really improves traction and handling (Keeps more power to the ground when one wheel comes up or loses traction - Like when cornering hard on higher bite surfaces). You won't be sorry! When you take the spider gears out of the diff, there is an ultra thin washer between each of the 4 beveled spider gears and the diff case - Don't lose them.

Hey NitroNutt...
You talking about the LST.... and not the LST II right?
I replaced my cups with the Nova and Sportwerks TiNi gearing, 50K wt, and reused the spiders. The stock LST II bevel spider gears did not have the washer between them and the cup. I check the parts list for the LST II when I was doing this, and it does show them there however.
So I am not sure they are coming on the LST II or not.
There is a very good thread on this on [link=http://www.lstcentral.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=3147]LSTCentral[/link]

I was referring to the LST, but they ARE supposed to be there on the LST2. They are thin and can be easily lost in the grease. Sometimes, they can stick to the beveled gears so well that you may miss them- I nearly did the first time. Here is the breakdown from the LST2 Manual:

I can tell you forsure the were not over looked. They were simply not there. I cleaned all the spiders my hand with a tooth brush and WD40. The plastic cups were also cleaned well before I stored them for back-ups. Not there as well.
I am not sure I would want to use them with the Nova alum cups anyways. I can see how they should be used on the plastic cups though.

I think that they are necessary with the plastic cases - my Savage wore grooves in the diff cupswhere the spider gears went, but I've got a LOT of run time on my LST with my current plastic diff cups (Nearly 5 gallons on this engine plus runtime on another engine - Truck was a used rolling chassis when I bought it.) and the washers make a huge difference. I just re-filled my diff fluid last weekend and there was no real wear - a true testament to the washers. Up to you with the AL cases...Can't hurt!

I can't see how running them the the Nova would help other than for spacing. As for wearing the cup channel... I see no advantage using a washer. On the flip side the washer might wear to the point the spider shreads them up and grinds them. Which would not be good!
Next time I change my 50K wt out I will look again.

The washer is so thin to begin with, if it wore down enough to break apart, it wouldn't do any damage because of its ultra thin and easily malleable size. Again, your call with AL cups, but highly recommended with the plastic ones.
