I got one and the FU**ER DIDNT FIT[:@][:@][:@][:@]

Im still using my stock mach .26SS that came with my truck and the dam pull start was smaller then the back plate. I had to cut open the holes and use spacers to fit it on. Bad thing is, there is a 1/8th inch gap between the pullstart and my engine (dirt and crap could get into it while running) Maybe they had two different sizes.... one being the M.26 and 427 vx the m.26SS...... idk[&o]

I was just about to get this!! But aftermarket!
Thanks for the Losi link, i will get my LHS to order one for me.
I HATE roto start for everyday use, I like to just thow a glow igniter in my back pocket and a bottle of fuel in the other and go out..
The roto is so freaking heavy and BIG, it pulls my pants down wearing that thing in a pocket.

I longed for my old pull start savage.

Now HOWEVER, the roto start is VERY nice when dealing with a troublesome engine.
If you are so out of tune it won't start, or something else is wrong, it's VERY nice to have roto..

But when you just rolled it, and it stalled, it's SO nice to just give it a tug and get back on the dirt!

Those and starter boxes. Both do have the uses and i've used both but really. the pull start is so much easier since you have less to carry around. I always take a 4 way glow rench, small flat head screw driver, fuel (in fuel bottle) transmitter and the ignitor when im gonna go run. so if i have to carry the spin/roto start system with me it starts to add up.... unless you build yourself a trailer

Both the spin/pull start combo is a great idea. just have to work out the fitting issue. Maybe it was just that one?!?![&:]

I have to say that when I first got into this hobby I thought that pullstarts sucked @#$ but you are right iexian you almost need those giant cargo pants from the 90's that had 8 pockets and could fit two people just to carry everything. I finnaly can appreciate a pull start but the roto is great for some applications. Please let me know if there is a different size for the mach .26 or at least what they tell you when you tell them that it doesn't fit.

**WARNING**
If you buy the spin/roto start system IT WILL NOT FIT!!!!

Only the engines that came with the system from the beginning will fit the spin/roto start system. So if you have a Mach.26 or M.26SS or M427 They WILL NOT fit unless you buy a new back plate and one way bearing.... IF you Have already have a truck that came with it (raminator) you will not have this problem

This was after calling the customer service and speaking to a rep ( sorry didnt get his name )
What he said was "the only engines that can fit the system are anything that already came with it"

Then i asked "So the team Losi Aftershock and the Losi Raminator both use the same engine, the Mach26 and they wont fit? Does this also apply to the Mach427"

Same answer. Only the trucks that came with the system will fit the application. Other wise you have to buy new parts to fit the spin/roto start system

Looking at losi's website the "newest" engine in the raminator is a Mach.26 MB But the last two used the 26.SS engine. lst2 using the 427 ( as we all know ) and the LST the Mach.26[sm=72_72.gif]

i have a mega baja that came with the combo, and the darn pullstart went out immediately! tried to order a new one but it is on back order, so i had to use the roto off the other baja. it's nice when it works, but when it breaks you are on your own!---henry

As it is, Ive once again looked into what all is needed to "convert" the normal pullstart to the combo system

I use the word "convert" since you cant just slap the new pull/spin start on the engine and call it good... you have to buy more parts to make everything fit correctly [:@]

Anywho, If you have the stock Mach.26/ 26SS or the Mach427 you will need to buy ALL these parts, NONE of the stock parts will fit this new "application"[:-]

LOSR1037 pullstart ( combo system )
LOSR1041 Backplate
LOSR1042 Start Shaft and spring
LOSR1043 Oneway bearing

And now to the next task at hand
