For 40 series wheels you need 23mm hex's but yes they work and look great as well as they preform. Here is some pics of mine
Axial have some 40 series wheels with 17mm hexes though, do you think these are ok

17mm are the most common and will be fine however axial is what i got and they started flaking before i ever drove 'em

ProLine also makes the Wabash 40 series wheels in 17mm hex.
