so i finally signed up for MAAC and am now waiting to get the confirmation and then i can sign up to a club. I asked that the email me a confirmation i am wondering if that will still take the three to five weeks or does that more apply to the card? also does anybody have anything to say about THE CAPITAL CITY FLYERS? this is the club i think i am goin to join as the other on close to my house is filled but either way i am excited to join and fly more. thanks

I wouldn't be surprised if it takes them 3 weeks to send you a reply and they probably charged you $5 for it to.
This is something that has always upset me about MAAC. Why do they need to charge $5 to send someone an email telling you your application was received???
I hope this will change with the redesign of the MAAC website, which I know is being worked on...
Anyway, welcome to the hobby...

It is my understanding that you have coverage as soon as you send in your application.
If your club doesn't beleive you, have them call MAAC HQ to confirm, but I would not waste 3 weeks of prime flying time waiting for a piece of paper.
BTW, next time register in October for the following year and then you don't have to worry about this stuff.

I applied earlier in the year via e-mail, my confirmation was only a couple of days, I think it depends on the office support at MAAC.
