New !!!!
As if Heng Long would fix their design flaws ( namely the tracks recoil system ) ...
<div>The fact of the matter is that they had an Anti-Tracks Recoil unit and we didn't know about it ...Neither did they ....
</div><div>The mod is quite simple : I just use an extra RX-18 board hooked-up to the power supply and the receiver signal ; to power the main motors only ...
( I also send a signal to my smoke unit )...
</div><div>This configuration not only disable the tracks recoil on the main motors ; but it also allows me to fire the main gun on the move ...

Very nice find....now we can finally get rid of that sick whole tank jerk. Firing on the move though is redundant, as none of the tanks represented by HL were able to fire on the move and hit anything.

nice find.,...do you have a diagram or schematic to show how you have it hooked up? I don't do electronic work, but this seems to be simply unplugging the gun control and plugging it into the added R-18. Smoke I could care less, as none of my tanks had any significant smoke until we had a bore evacuator which kicked out the gas collected after air pressure balanced out.

I know it's not historically correct to have a german tank firing on the move but it's kind of cool to be able to do it with Heng Long electronics ...
As for the mod itself ; all you need to do is unplug the drive motors from the main board and plug them on the extra board ...
You also need to power the extra board and connect the receiver terminal ..( you just need 3 wires ) ..
It's a very simple mod ...<br type="_moz" />

I'm using the Asiatam recoil system ...It's compact enough to allow me to use a phone swivel to get the turret to rotate 360 degrees as per this thread : www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6518987/tm.htm
I forgot to mention that the present mod. works if you are using the upper left control to trigger the recoil & sound ....

I've tried installing the Asiatam recoil in my HL Pz III H. Ihave been having problems with gun aligment. I'm about to try the Bubbajoe mod of the HL recoil unit that can be found on the RCCommand website.

You're right about the Asiatam recoil ; it's not exactly plug & play ...I had to fiddle quite a bit to fit it inside the mantlet of my Panzer IV ...
I'm also using the mod. from RC Command to actuate the recoil ...It's works for both Asiatam and Heng Long systems ....

For those among you who don't like the idea of welding wires between the 2 RX-18 boards ; Just use 2 "receiver main board " harnesses and splice them together ...

I put the Asiantam in my Pz III and if you take the plate off, and remove the pellet feed in the turret, theres a hole on the front of the recoil unit that fits perfect and you can screw it down and then fit your barrel, you can use the tiger elevation arm and glue it to the manlet. Mine works fine andfits like a glove.

old thread, but I'm still interested since you can fire on the move. But how do you connect to the new heng long 2.4GHz board? It has the receiver integrated, I think. I can get the RX18 or another HL 2.4 board, but how do I connect the receiver wire between the 2? Not sure which pin to connect to on the new 2.4GHz board.
I was thinking of the TK22, but I hate the joystick control setup there.

The Abrams, Leopard and challenger certainly can fire on the move and you better believe they can hit what thier shooting at. Now the new T 90 coming out I seriously dought could hit something on the move but I also have my doughts they could hit a target sitting still too. LOL

It's too bad that when upgrading to 2.4 GHz ; Heng Long didn't provide the option to disable the track recoil...

Well, the new TK-RXMB board still has the same port with 3 pins. 2 are used for the controller sync switch. I wonder if the unused middle pin is the input, and which could be used as the output... anyone has any info on those new boards?
