Hey guys WOW i have been gone for ever haha lol I just got married saturday
it was a good time did a lil drinkin lol but any hooooo Ill get to the great news I got a revo for my wedding gift to myself. Now I have 3 rc's I already want to get a savage now lol. Do any of you guys have, or ever had a revo? Please dont hate me for this lol I still love mt2 alot. The only reason I got it was for the strength and my friend that I do all the bashing with has one so were just going to stock up on parts.
I took out the mt2 yesterday lol right after the gift opening. That was the first time that I drove it after putting all the plastic parts in it. You would not believe the change in performance going from aluminum to plastic parts I was blown away with it. My mt2 is a fair bit faster now and pulls some wheelies now (not all the time but randomly here and there)
Any one know what the trx 3.3 is like for power? Or should I just sell it and go for the picco .26

congrats !! hope you have many many years of nagging ! LOL !!! hey man don't feel guilty about the traxxas ! i had a few and their good trucks, if you get tired of it you can turn it into a slayer ! LOL the traxxas power is fine untill you run into a savage or a lst then ur toast. the new picco 26 is nice and they fixed the carb neck problem i here. i have a savage i just finished a week ago, i liked my MT2 so much i got rid of all my non HPI car's and built a savage. hope to break less parts and take some strain off my fastest car. Go for it ! with a few upgrades the revo will out run the best of them it just takes time to get the truck to work for bashing it's at home on the track on the street not so good. over the weekend i purchased a 3.3 t-maxx roller from craigslist to tinker with myself hope it wasn't a mistake !!!!

I've heard rear exhaust isn't all that great. I prefer side. Anyhow, I'm using that exhaust. Opens up the .18SS, lots of power.

in comparison revo and t-maxx are not 1/8 scale rc's more like oversized 10th's so there lighter than most monster trucks. the tamiya TNX 5.2r ir really a t-maxx with a few changes but it's only 9 pounds with a .32 in it so imagine how it flies by 13 pound savages and lst's. revo's are not winner's because of the driver's alone ! they have almost a 3 and a half pound advantage ! the motor isn't as powerful as the other trucks but there very close after the math is done ! Wt. vs POWER !

Hi guys,I have been reading this for an hour and theres tons of valuable info here, but theres way too much to read.My question is fairly simple though and I apologize if the answer is already here.I have my eye on the newest MT2(MT2 G3.0).My first question is will I still have to go in and shim the diffs and replace the gear?My second and last question is has the turnbuckle issue been resolved on this newest model?Neither is a big deal to me,just need to know ahead of time so I can order parts when I order the truck.

I'm far from a expert but i'd say with the stock motor no shimming req. but the turn buckle issue i'd go with the new era set. easy to adjust and they don't have the ability to pop off. really on the diff i have seen many diffs blown but has never blown one myself, i have always ran my car "Mt2" with a .28 in it and it's a 2 speed so the stuff is strong. i think if you try to keep the wheelspin down the diffs should be fine even with a bigger motor. i have never spun my car in circles because...... well it would eat it's self alive with the .28 cvd's,tires,2 speed tranny something would lockup and break ! while the car is new nothing should pop off after a while the turnbuckles will become a issue.

What turnbuckle issue are you referring to?
As for the diffs. Check them when you get the truck. It they feel snug you should be ok. As they break in they are going to wear a little which is normal. If you start to feel too much play in them then you will need to shim them or they will blow. Ive eaten up two sets already. Asystemerror is 100% right about spinning the truck though. If you go wide open and spin the truck so its going backwards and then get on the gas again you can kiss the diffs goodbye.
And never worry about asking a question that might have been asked before. This MT2 thread has a good group of guys and everyone tries to help each other out. Some guys in the other threads could learn a lot from the people in this one.

Yes, there are some very immature people in some of these threads. And if you are not part of their little click they dont like to answer you. And if they do they are usually wise... remarks instead of helpful answers.

Thanks guys.I called HPI today after posting this and they assured me that I shouldnt have to shim the diffs on the newest models, but like you said,it will be something to keep an eye on.

You should be good for a while. It really depends on how hard you drive it. Like anything else its going to wear over time. But definitely avoid those full throttle spins.. I blew two diffs that way..
