Mmmmm all my goodies came today!

$300 worth!

Here they are, I'll post finished pictures when I have put it all together.

Also when you guys mean shim your diffs do you mean shim them so they move with some force and are pretty rough when turning the wheels (like clicking)
Shim them so they move with some force. What tires did you get? What are the other parts aswell? (small pic, i cant really see them all)
Umm, moabs, hpi rims, 49T spurs, OFNA slide linkage, OS .18TZ, diff housings and duratrax vented and lightened flywheel which I am having trouble fitting.

ORIGINAL: KeithjV

You dont want to feel clicking. If you do then they are too tight. You want to take up any play there is so that the gears mesh well. They should turn smoothly when you spin them
are you able to show me a diagram of where the shims should go? I used all the bigger shims inside the diff, there is no play until I force it but when I move the drive train the gears are rough because they are meshed to each other tightly.

hey guys just wondering if anyone has put a brushless system together for the MT2? I would like to so that i can take it to work and terrorize my office but i dont know enough about electric systems to do it my self. if anyone has any info please let me know. thanks.

my MT2 was brushless before it was bigblock and it was also 2 speed. AS A WARNING it's a long road, battery space along with HI rpms is a bad combo !

You guys able to help me fit this flywheel http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...5&I=LXESB3&P=K onto the .18TZ-TX? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...5&I=LXHLV9&P=K

The collet is exactly the same in this picture, it doesnt fit over the engine end of the crank shaft http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...5&I=LXHLV9&P=K

If the hole is too small you will need to drill it out. The link you posted is not for a MT2 flywheel. Its a duratrax, that cold be why it dosent fit. *shrugs* i donno how else you can get it to fit.

slim there is a differance between the stock fly wheel and the duratraxx one the dura traxx flywheel is lighter I put the dura traxx one on my tz and there were no issues at all and that flywheel that you had was a GPM right?

i use the stock gears that come in the two speed kit. the 43/47 spurs and the purple CB gears 18/22 this will not work with a smallblock ! the purple's are OK but the spurs should be 41/45 and the cb should be the gold gears this would allow more rpm's to get the truck moving before it shift's, and I would go no smaller than a OS .18 TM with a good tuned pipe. anything less and you risk not being able to get the tranny to shift.

eminentguitar: Yeah mine was a GPM but it was also a lightweight one aswell.

spoonrc: Thats a nice bit of loot...have you mounted the mobas up yet? I know thos are really tall tires (had them on my rockcrawler) you might experance roll overs alot more with them. Might want to put some limiters (fuel line) inside the shocks to keep the COG lower.

hey man just take that black nut off of your crank and leave the aluminum spacer thats on the engine. then you put the flywheel on WITHOUT the collet k you done need that collet the hole in the flywheel is just the right size to go over the crank then you put your pilot nut on sound good? I just took mine apart and that how she goes honest man its a great whywheel and helps with the revs alot.

alight, ill pull it apart later thanks

So the flywheel just sits against the drive washer? Because it looks like the grooves on the washer will grab the flywheel, but I'm not sure how good.

well they grab good on mine man no problems so far. You just have to make sure that there good and tight and put a little lock tite on your pilot shaft. I have been running my mt2 all summer and its still good.
