Been having a BLAST with my new SE over the last two weeks..... then it happens. Sun, distance, and speed make a deadly combination.

Oh man, I'm so sorry to man! [

Looks like its repairable though. . You got one good wing, the other wing would be easy to fix. The front of the fuse may be tuff, but I would at least try to fix it.
Is the engine and electronics ok?

everything minus the airframe is intact.
I am going to put it in the shed for a possible winter project. Although, I have never worked with a kit, never worked balsa, so it may be tough for me.

Dang Rich, only yesterday I believe you were asking how the saito .72 would be for the SE. I hate to hear you dumped it. Get youself another kit. It is a very easy build and will go together fast. I love mine with the 53 irvine.

Sounds like you really liked the plane. Maybe you should build one from a kit. Then you may find it easy to fix that one and have two. Just a suggestion.
I build my four star and now I am building a Chipmunk. I am finding that ARF's are much cheaper. I will probably buy ARF's from now on and maybe a kit every now and then. But it is fun to build, but not much fun in the summer time because I never feel like working on it.
But I honestly think it would be good to build at least one kit. It really helps to know how to fix minor crashes, although I wouldn't classify your as minor.

This kit I believe is worth building. The arf is 205 and the kit is 76.00. That's the biggest disparity between a kit and arf that I've seen.

yeah, HUGE price differance. I absolutely loved flying the SE. I was doing sub 10' takeoffs, straight up, doing around 5 spins, then looping out into the pattern... WHAT A BLAST.
The problem with me building a kit is, space, or lack there of. I would love to build another one from kit, then I would have some "spare parts" so to speak.
Atleast I got this one used, built from a kit, for $65, so not that great of a loss.

Sorry for your loss. I remember seeing your post in the "Show me your SE's" just a couple of weeks ago. It is a great plane to fly though. I have 8 flights on mine now and loving every minute of it.
