Hi Guys, 'nother newby! (Well not so new, I inherited a wrecked EGO Cessna, and have spent time reading this great thread) Anyhow, thanks for all the great info, I'm off to maiden tomorrow morning, fingers crossed!
I'll try to post some pix of the finished product, I changed the look of the whole thing, the red just didn't work for me, and gave the bird a kinda mixed purpose (Fire spotter/Jump plane)
Specks are;
4 channel wing, (separate servos embedded in the wings)
Steerable nose wheel (mechanical)
Mystery out-runner and ESC (30amp)
Mystery 3cell lipo (2200)
Spektrum RX (6 channel)
Three position flaps
FY-20A on-board auto pilot.
I think I got all the bases covered, once again, thanks for the wonderful tips and info. Hope the morning is going to be kind...?

For information about the actual Cessna Skylane and lots of sources for its rc models, here is a place you may want to check out.[link]http://www.aviationtrivia.info/Cessna-182-Skylane.php[/link]

Well, I've had my Parkflyer Cessna v1 with the Jaskel mod for years now. Still love to fly it. Finding batteries that actually fit in it is a little hard, though.

Yes I still fly mine.
I changed over to Brushless and new servos
still flys great.
I put a 400 size engine with 18amp ESC
Fly off 1500ma parkzone batteries they fit in battery bin tight just need velcro on battery to get it out.

I have the Art Tech Cessna 182 brushless that comes RTF with a 4 channel radio 2.4 and a 7.4v 1300mah battery... Beautiful airplane... The instructions are good as far as setting up the plane but there is no information on how to program the ESC. My airplane´s ESC defaults to a 3s battery (3 beeps at turn on) and as soon as I start the motor, it shuts off... Does anyone have the instructions on how to reprogram the ESC with the transmitter to work with a 2s pack?... Thanks.

Hi guys I bought a cessna 182 400 series from Art Tech back in July which was my first plane and I crashed it badly 50% of the time and reading the posts here people seem to be able to fly them or crash them well. I got dispondant with flying so I went to the Lhs and the guy there was flying a hobbyzone supercub so I bought one and as if by a miracle I can fly it! So far no crashes no tape and no epoxy!!!! Now I have some more confidence I am putting the cessna back together new fuse and tail swap the brushless and lipos over. Looking back it seemed tail heavy so I have put a little weight in the nose and my C of G is 55 mm from the leading edge is that right? Also it seemed to randomly do its own thing so I have gone for a Dx6 I for both models. Now just waiting for a nice day. Any other advice?
