ferndale, about the shipping. i've found out that it's much easier, and cheaper wither, with usps. they got a shipping that can be made in 10 days (i think it's priority parcel, neurotex may remember this one). the form your talking about is a sticker they put on the parcel. to say what's in there, how much is it's value, and if it is sold, a sample or a gift. you just have to say it's a gift (in wich ever case) and there won't be any taxes on the item if it's under +- 40 usd (50 can). neurotex, sent me a jet and it cost 3.75 usd for shipping and it was at my door 5 days latter!!! with usps.

MB, Yes I am using stock aa props with the ss motors. I got them mounted to the rx last night, these motors have twice the power of the stock motors. I can hardly wait to put it together tonight

My brother, and my neice and nephews are star wars freaks. I'm thinking of building one of the star fighters. And powering it with AA gear. Has anyone else tried this? If your a big fan, a plane suggestion? I saw a pic of what is apparently called the v wing fighter. It has a bunch of excess side wing, but appears to have a decent center body. Tim

The V-Wing could be tricky (sorry star wars fan here
) The nose drops down in front pretty severly...kinda like the concord on takeoff. But since its flat it would act just like a giant canard. How about an A-wing? Looks like it would be an easy build from 2 or 3mm depron.

Sorry how these plans look...I only spent about 2 mins on them.

i spent about over an hour the other night going through this site: http://www.the-blueprints.com/index....ints/starwars/
they've got TONS of 3 view drawings of Star Wars, Star Trek, and lots of other real planes from all eras. very nice site.

ive added a triangular fin to each side of my mono's wing and it has helped a lot with even turning (coupled with the toothpick idea) i made them out of foam plates. any suggestions on the design of winglets for my jet or mono (do they help the jet at all)?

gp, I went to the dollar store and got a package of drink stirrers, they seem to work better than the toothpicks. I posted a pic probaly on the prevoius page. The extra length of the stirrers lets you determine where the support is. Thank you for trying my mod though[8D]. I have an idea for turns, but I want to at least test it before I post it.
I'm also thinking of running a rib along the length of the tail boom. Anyone tried it yet? Tim

Hey 13BT, i need to put in a 30 MAH lipo think you could solder it in? its pretty small and you have to cut off the capacitator of first i think, micro-builder could you tell me how its done? and also what flight times i will be getting?

i know i will be anoying poeple with this soon, 'cause i always come back with that.
neurotex, and some others. when building a plane from scratch, like suzonka, does any dihedral or airfoil is needed? or it will fly with a flat wing, it will stay in flying position with the gears (pcb and battery) under it?

Gp, for winglets on the mono mod, I used the lower wings. I cut them at the same angle as the upper wing and 1 1/4 inches out from the airframe. I think the overall measurement was 1 1/2 inches. I've posted pic's of this mod before, but I'll repost them.
Suzonka, I'll post a pic of the stir stick mod as well. I like the stir stick better that the toothpick, because it seems to work better, and supports the wing farther out. Tubes have more inherent strength than solids, and by using two tubes I can better balance the weight.
I'll post one pic of each, if you need more pic's let me know. Tim

Here are the pics I mentioned. It appears that I never posted a pic of the winglet plane until I put wing supports on it(toothpicks). Now that I 've figured out a way to maintain wing support, I get to go back and redo older mods that wouldn't fly right. LOL, Tim

Truly flat the jet will have less drag and fly faster. With a slight dihedral the plane
will tend to roll less in turns. Sanding an airfoil or rounding wing edges will also
cut down on drag. Curving the wings or undercambering them will cause the plane
to float or glide better but some speed may be compensated for in doing so.
On this second smaller jet I put together I'm slowly trimming back the trailing edges
of the wing to eliminate some of the kiting and see how small a wing I can get and
still have good flight.
I'm finding out that very little is needed to keep a jet flying. I've come to the conclusion
that the original AA jet has more than enough wing area. I'd even say way too much.
Best to decide first what you want out of the plane and how you want it to perform
before you decide on a design. And then build the plane around the performance
you want.

Tom, Micro, and anyone else, Am I rebuilding the wheel with the stir stick mod/toothpick mod? I don't remember it being posted before, but the first 30 pages are a blur.
