McNeil - Looks like youre on the right track, so to speak. My wheels are about 2 /12 inches apart and 1 1/2 inches from the bottom of the plane. I place my track on my driveway and fly out into the cul-de-sac.

I feel the preasure to, but my fine is Federal as I live on an Air Force base, we have our own club and strip, but we can only fly when the jets arent, Ive been cyelled at for just flying my Typhoon around in an empty field.

I've thought of doing that if only I could get just the two outer
motors to work for steering and have the inner motors work only
on throttle.
Ran across the perfect field for flying about a half mile from work.
It's 3 Soccer fields in one with not a soul in sight. Everyday I checked
it out and found no one is even remotely interested in this large field.
Perfect!
So today I drove in and a sign greeted me at the entrance:
NO RC PLANES ALLOWED! $500 FINE! [:@]

two questions for our esteemed panel.
has anyone trimmed/shaved down the body of their mono mod? I see that silverlit has a model that appears to be a lear.
has anyone encountered a hard turn that is not correctable short of rudder adjustment?

Monstermaker - If your question was directed to me, yes, my LG works very well. I found that adding (secured by Gorilla glue) the 1/2 popsicle sticks to each side of the wire prior to inserting the enitre device into my AA was the key. Initially, I had my LG taped to the outside and found that it did not stand up too well with repeated landings or touch and goes. Next, I inserted just the wire into the AA and, while more secure than taping, it was still too flimsy. After adding the popsicle stick pieces, the LG is very strong and does not move at all. Wish I knew how to post photographs for those who might be interested.

They've been that way for a few days at my local Target. I had a couple that didn't fly good so my wife brought them back and picked up a couple more. It was quite a surprise to save almost 5 bucks each on the new ones.

So - I noticed someone had hot wheels that were open spoked so I got one and shaved the wheel thickness to about 1/16" leaving the hub at full thickness. I went back to a tail wheel doing the same thing. Being a raeelly nasty day out I'v only been able to do proof of concept using about a 35 foot open section across the livingroom and recroom. I also made a total of 14 feet of take off track. I have successfully launched both the biplane and mono mod. (I also hit a table one second later - but AaAah addiction and obsession made it necessary). I think this may be my last wheel building.

While cleaning off my bench I started tossing this stuff, then I
thought- what a waste. 3 AA bodies (1 rough, 1 melted purple,
the orange one never flown with both wings in mint condition
with the full decal package never opened. Some wing bottoms,
and 3 tail sections.) That's all the foam left from 3 planes.
If someone wants these left overs let me know. Just pay the postage,
should be about 3 bucks.

Thought I'd mention that after treeing my monowing mod. I got the Target box with the e-charger combo. iId normally not get any free flight plane (I hate all the walking to get it) but this is a bit cute - especially for a freebe. Mine is the same size as the AA - but a black delta wing. Takes only a 10 sec charge (box says DON"T charge longer!). Prop turns even while charging, no off switch. Flys kind of fun for about 20 secs. You can control the size of it's circle by bending the rear outer edge of the wing. Thing is they say to let it cool for 2 min. between chargings. So--- have an AA handy to play with while waiting.

I just picked up a new aa today. Still has paint smell, and the controller was wired in the same as my last one. I have large hopes.
I just checked amazon and... THEY HAVE NEW AA's. no pics yet. Ah, what color scheme? No jets, unless they are some of the ones with no pics.
