Hello all, I have just placed an order for the Phoenix and wonder if anyone has any advice to give re 'build', if it can be called that!?, choice of servos etc and any other hints your personal experience may give? I have a P60 to power it and fly with JRPCM9X2

Malcolm Kay here , US distributor fo AD products, I have been flying a phoenix for a month now, and I can confirm that the airplane flys fantastically mine has a PST 600R on the back with 14.5 lbs thrust the plane will do anything you ask it to, and then some, it slows down to a slow speed without any tipstall tendencies and will do any aerobatic manouvre at half throttle, landings are a doddle , especially with the trailing link struts , it is a fast plane and a damn good trainer rolled into one, mine weighs 17lbs dry has the optional kevlar tank, and eurokit gear........great flyer.........great value.........good luck with yours the p 60 should push it faster when using full flap to land dial in 15 % up elevator...happy landings

Hi there.....
I was actually waiting for this thread..... good that it started. Lets start on a good note... this is an exceptionally good kit / trainer kit/ ARF. we received a prototype a couple of months ago and we found the kit a bit flimsy/soft for the brand it comes from. But hey it was a prototye only and with P60 on it. It FLEWWWW. Nice....... as Malcolm said. I will post a few pictures aswell of the Phoenix one of our freind who flew it just before its test flight. The planes flew well but we lost it soon on the following week which was no fault of the plane.. just some D@# Li0n - Duralites......!
Anyways. A word of advice if anyone bldg it. You must consider to remove all the wood panelling / formers etc.. from the inside - yes rip it all out and reinforce the sides walls with C.F material from the front right till the part the wings are joint. This will make it a much more durable plane. Then you could put back all the wood panels / formers that you ripped out. The new kits that we recd were much better quality then the proto.. but I think its just a good idea to upgrade it if you have the skillz and time. Otherwise its just ok to let it be as it is.
We have now finished 2 more of these and flown one with a p60 and the other with PST 600R. Both flew well. The bld is simple and easy and it takes just 4 days from the box to the field.
Way to go ADJets...

We recieved some kits as stock a couple of weeks ago. The kits that you received azuz must have been very early beta ones. The quality of the Phoenix's that we have are excellent. Having worked on both the Composite ARF Roos / Eurofighters and BVM composite BobCat I would put the Phoenix quality / fit and finish right in the middle. BTW - it is a big plane! With a 12 -14 lb engine it would be a real sweetheart to fly!

No sorry, my webmaster has not been able to update my site this month. For 2006 we will be extensively redoing the site to show the entire PST Jets product line ( engines and support division. We will also carry in stock select airframe manufacturer kits and combo packages. We do have some Phoenix kits in stock @ $1350 U.S. plus shipping.

yeah Agreed and mentioned in my POST it was a Prototype sent to us by Eric to test it = Beta Versions. The later version which we built again were better quality as I mentioned.
However we lost the first beta type due to bad Batts. !!! nothing wrong with the plane..... infact it was such a good glider that the plane went full speed into the ground still saved the engine which now flies on a boomerang of our freind who tested the Phoenix !
Your Price for the Phoenix does it include the struts and gear ? ready to go kinda of thing or is it just the kit price./

I will be dropping a dialed down 1300R on mine, I don't think the 600R is going to give me the speed and power that I want. I have to make sure that it will outdo my Stingray or I may get bored with it. I plan on adding a smoke system as well. I hope to start on mine after Christmas. I am glad to hear that they fly well!

Strato..
Good idea, let me know how it goes... just check on that CofG once you done puttin the turbine........I am planning on a dialed down P70, these things are surely fast......
but since you would be pushing it to the max with that engine...we need a flight update for sure !

That's a great looking sport jet!and super value in addition
Malcolm,
How about some more details in regards to the F-100,size,etc?Will it be the D or F model?Sounds like a super price on it as well.It is about time that someone comes out with a alternative to the BVM F-100.

Dave you're not dense I wrote the post too quickly the struts are a separate item for people who have retracts to put in and you could use anything the plane will take spring airs, or robarts or whatever you have that retract sideways (no bvm bobcat ) the price of $595 for the eurokit set includes three retracts three struts with trailing link suspension air tank, wheels tires and brakes inserts for the tires if you want to use them (I do) a proportional brake valve servo operated, and retract air valve and a one way fill valve complete set of 3mm tubing and festo connections for the brakes and 4mm tubing with festo fittings foe the retracts all of which goes together with a snap and works perfectly without any air leaks the first time you use it , ......they even give you the right screws to mount the retracts in the airframe ! hope that clears matters up sorry for the confusion. Malcolm
