Default new Tx(Futaba 6exh)

hi guys got a question. just got a new Tx (futaba 6exh-fm) and i thought i would try it with my blade. the Rx that came with, is a R168DF. i have ordered the crystal proper for it but i am getting tired of waiting for it. what do i have to do in order to hook the Rx to the blade and replace the stock one and be able to use the new Tx. any help and pictures would be greatly apreciated thanks.

If don't want to wait, take the crystal from the eflite tx and insert it int to the 6exh. Make sure you setup the 6exh before 1st flight. The crystal does work like this but some will mention that it is illegal (FCC rules) to do so. Anyway, I did it and still waiting for the FCC to stop by.

ok so i now have the xtals switched. here is my problem...everything works the way it is supposed to except the throttle, there is no response. i went into the program and reversed the throttle(from where it was) and still nothing. the 3 in 1 will not arm, but, if i put the throttle all the way up and wait the 3 in 1 will arm, then if i move the throttle to a lower position both motors wll start up?[:@] so it is like the left stick needs to be flipped. but like i said this will only do this if it is reversed(now normal). if the switch is reversed back even on full throttle it will not arm. i am stumped [][]

The problem "pitch" is having is with channel 3.
Andrew, switch it back the way is was originally and try lowering the throttle trim and see if it arms. Maybe the subtrim needs to be lowered some.

sub trim? when i put it back where it was originally it will flash as though it is going to arm then the light stays a constant red. the futaba sites says to go into the stick program the scroll to the throttle and rev it, then they go on to say that you still may have to go into the normal rev program and rev that but there is no other program from the stick program.
how you feeling anyway?

I took the crystal out of my blade tx and put it in the 6exh.. and used the settings sent to me by Kevin (thanks man) . the only issue I am having now is that the left Aileron servo is getting pushed all the way up and is not responding to the tx. One thing I could not program was the Swash plate.. It shows 1-5 and I can't figure out how to change it..[&o] help me! LOL! Never mind! Iset the swash plate and fixed the servo issue! Now I need to change the pitch curve because it won't lift off. Dang it! also I changed the pitch curve and noticed the swash plate is backwards (stick right - plate left) .. now to fix that what should I do?
Update.. I'm flying again! I screwed up and had the CH A on the swash at +80 instead of -80.. I had her in a hover and did a few tail in circles in the garage! Now just set the expos a little looser because right now they are touchy! Thanks Kevin!

Here are my settings for the radio. I am running stock motor, twin tail motor set up (Helidirect) ,plastic blades from JCSHobbies (increased pitch rods as recommended @Jcs website), stock Lipo. I have tested these settings outside today and did minimal flight due to windy blustery day. Now that i am becoming familar with the 6exh I will continue to refine it.. This should get you flying if you are running the same heli configuration as me. Keep in mind Iam using the plastic blades with added pitch. adjust yours as nessecary .. I'm having to input a little tail and I am trying to address that .. (it's a little twichy maybe adjust the pot on the bird ) Please post your findings as you set yours up to compare notes.. Many thanks to Kevin (enticer) for putting me in the right direction. He's Da Man! I made changes to his settings to fit my needs and get me airborne.. update.. I just flew it out in the 5-8 mph wind and she did as she did before .. flew like a blade! I did change my expos to 50 as they were still to fast.. REVR

I cannot take credit for those settings, they are settings I found posted on a forum. I am not sure which one.
Andrew, those settings should look familiar to you.

I see a lot of posts of guys not using the eflite transmitter.

Is the supplied eflite ccpm transmitter inferior compared to using a mainstream tx ?

No, it just doesn't have all the settings in the radio to get you confused! .. it allows you to fine tune the radio to suit your needs. One question I had was what to do with the old radio? I don't think it can be used with a plane as a buddy of mine wants to do..

Sell your radio on ebay. You'll probably get about 20 bucks for it. I sold mine when I got the Futaba 6exh.

they do. they look like a combo of the two pages you printed off for me. there are some differences but , i put them in and it works great. by far the best base progrm that i have used, tried it today in the living room all was good. got to do a few tweeks but this is the one i am going to stick with

you could sell it ...or if you ever have problems with your new tx then you have a back up and can still go flying

Okay guyz, I think I got the throttle and pitch curves pretty close.. But if you tweak on them a bit post them so we can try them.. 1=0 2=40 3=70 4=85 5=100 % n throttle , n pitch 1=15 2=40 3=65 4=80 5=90 % this seems to be real close to stock feel.. I've been flying around with 5-8 mph winds and was doing okay but those curves might be a little off. And after the chain link fence jumped up in the air we'z done till we get some blade grips! Dang it!
