Not much of an update of the resto, i just sanded the left top wing and left side of fin to make them smooth last night. I will be getting 2oz weave cloth for the wings with some carbon vial and 1oz for the fin, rudder, elevators and ailerons...

Props4Ever,
Here is another shot of 204 that you posted and two low quality drawings I found somewhere on the Internet a few years back. I also have some of 201 if that helps any.

I remember from an old modeling magazine, sometime in the 80s. There was this dude that was building a huge Arrow (1/5 i think). There was a pic of the complete airframe with a fibreglass body. There was plans for total of 5 models. Anyone heard of this? I will se if i can find that mag.

Ok,
I have an Yellow Models F4 that is about 80% built. I have a BVM .91 with fan for the power and have no earthy idea how to set nit up. It was prevuiosly mounted but the fuel system was never hooked up or the electronics (servos) never completely installed. I can probably figure out the electronics but the fuel system is a mystery to me with the lean/rich mixture control and all. Does someone have a fuel schematic or something to get me started. Also, what kind and where can I get fuel for this engine?

Thanks Joe,
This will give me a great start. I checked out the Wildcat Jet A 10% on the net and see that it was recomended by BVM for the .91. I'll order some through a LHS.

Denny,
Just noticed that you're from Ohio. Here's the best way to get your fuel: Call Jerry at Wildcat in March and order a case for pick up at Toledo. That way you'll get the show price, plus no shipping fees or sales tax. When I was flying DF I would always pick up a case or two from him at the Toledo show. Due to low demand he hasn't been bringing much Jet-A with him the past several years, so you'll have to make sure he brings some and puts your name on it.
I had a Yellow F-4 with BVM fan and BVM81 engine in it. I hope yours has the ducting that is sized for a BVM fan. Take-off runs were a bit long but once it got on the step it flew quite well. Yours should be a bit better with a 91.
Good luck,
Joe

Well close to 100 MPH is all the faster I need to go. My F35 goes at least 95 and an easy 100 in a dive. My Rafale about 70 Which is fast enough to trash it as I have once already.

If I'am not mistaken my yellow F4 the tanks are only 11ounces each you could run them in series

Hey Dave,
Movie hasn't arrived yet my friend but i called Doug at action hobby yesterday and we had good 40mins conversation of his 2 Arrow's compared to mine. He used 2 Byron fans with OS77s on this 37lbs models and flew them quite nicely for the movie shoot. He built 2 Arrow models at 1:8 scale, one crashed but other is in a museum somewhere in Canada. I will be following his directions for set up of propulsion system in my model, this means both fans have to be moved back under then fis at 6 degree upward angle!, this angle has to do with delta wing and moving engines and fans back was to keep the weight consistent. He had two metal tin cans as fuel tanks with 1 gallon of fuel in both tanks!.
Over the past vacation i did some more work on the model, fixed the cut on the wing body joint, still bit to be done. Stripped the pain off from forward fuselage, filled and scribed correct cockpit window lines as original mould had trenches like panel lines on it. Took all of the old plastic covering off from the top of the wings, cut none off and fixed the correct 4 degree downward angle, still not re-glued as yet. Also made mods of the spine with air conditioning air exit nozzle.
Looked in to making scale struts with functional oles for fixed gears. So there it is so far.

More pictures
Also assembled small 1:48 Hobbycraft Arrow model to get all the panel line details from to scribe on this model. If you look closely at the cockpit, you will see newly scribed lines for correct shape of cockpit windows in the stripped fuselage picture.

Getting there i can see. Cool stuff. I love it when people actually build things. Are you sure about this 6 degrees up angle, i mean the engines are located below the wing so this should give some of the same effect. Isnt it better to have some reflex in the wing ( elevons) It seems to me you will get trimchages with different throttle settings!

That is what he said he did on movie models back then, he also lowered the engines closer to the belly of the aircraft. When i get to that stage i will ask him again and go from there.
It also means that new fabricated structure may have to reinforced now to accommodate new former/bulkhead in there on which fan units and engine will be mounted. Now i am thinking on terms or tune pipes!, on pusher set up engine and pipes are in front of the fan unit vs tractor set up, i really don't want to have pipe sticking out of the exhaust nozzles!, i may move the former at the LE of the fin where it is mounted on the fuselage meaning move then ahead some inches...

running tanks in parallel if your feed lines are not equal it will feed from shorter line first feed lines must be eqal for both tanks to empty at same time . Only other option is to hook tanks in series
