Default How about a Vintage Section?

What do you guys think, would you like to see a Vintage Forum? I think that it would be cool to have a forum (under rc cars) for all the old tamiyas, kyoshos, etc. Maybe someone could suggest this to a moderator?

+1
Ive always thought it would be a good idea to have a section for vintage.
A lot of vintage already goes into electric off road, but a special section would be nice!

Would like to see one too. I guess you would have to make one for all categories as a sub-catagory, or it would be pretty mixed as a main.

I agree that it would have to be one forum with no subs to show any kind of activity. I would be on board for a vintage RC car/truck forum. Maybe I will see what the admins say.

This is great to see that there is interest. It is hard to post to the other threads because the threads get lost in the numerous post about slashes, e-revos, stampedes, etc. Thanks for looking into it.

If you look at the models in my profile, you will see I am a BIG vintage RC fan.

Wow Dale, you really have 25 RC Cars, that is crazy, I think the most I have had at one time was 10 or so. But it looks like a very nice collection.

I am working on #26 right now... Should arrive in a few days. It is ridiculous though. Completely ridiculous.

I know exactly what you are saying, it is kind of an addition. I have probably 7 rc projects that I have to finish before winter is over and I am still always looking on eBay for other RC stuff.

Be patient young grasshopper (no pun intended). It took 6 months to get the electric forums split. I think it's a good idea too, but we do have a LOT of forums, and a software upgrade on the way, so don't hold your breath.

I think it's a good idea - as long as it doesn't subdivide the forums.

It's good to see that there is still some interest in this. At least we could start some threads and not have to worry about the getting lost in all those threads about lipos, revos and such. I think that it would be best to have one seperate sub-section just like we have RC Car General Discussion under RC Car. We could have Vintage RC Cars under the main RC Cars

Thanks

I would like it to, all us 30+ somethings that were in the first rc craze back in the eighties are probably scouring Ebay for vintage stuff. lol

I bet there are some younger people who are into the vintage stuff as well. I myself am only 25, but I love collecting the old tamiyas and fixing them up to stock. I just got a Thundershot and QD Wrangler Jeep off eBay this weekend to add to my vintage collection. Hopefully this section will be started soon.

I'm always on ebay looking for true vintage parts; how'd you know? I would LOVE to see a vintage forum. Nothing special, just one place like RC General or RC OffRoad Electric. Their still seems to be a LOT of us out there that are into the vintage stuff. Personally, I think the late eighties to early nineties were the glory days of RC and when they were at their best, excluding electronics and batteries of course(todays stuff is WAY better). I still prefer running my vintage RC's over new ones too. Hopefully we can see a Vintage section come to fruition.

I have to agree. First time I seen a wild willy in the mall spinning around in front of a Ben Franklin store, I was hooked.....

I want to throw in another vote for a vintage section! With tamiya doing so many reissues lately it would make alot of sense I think.

I would also love a Vintage form, because I have more then a few vintage 80's models.
