Do I have to click the "subscribe" icon on every thread that I would like to be subscribed to, EVEN if I have already posted a reply in the thread?
Basically, I'm asking if it is like the old RCU where I could just respond to, (or start) a thread, and I was automatically subscribed to it.

You should see-
Notify me via e-mail when someone replies
Just below the message box when starting a new thread or replying to a post. The radial button should also be automatically checked.

Is there another way to automatically uncheck this option so there is no mail sent to me? I could just use my junk mail filter. I tried to edit a post I made that is coming in my e-mail but now it does not have this default box checked and it is not there to uncheck.

Is there a way to only get one e-mail from a subscribed thread until I return to RCU instead of getting an e-mail for each post? This way is going to flood my mailbox. The old set-up was easier on this subject.

At the top of each page is a link that says "subscribe" You may manage your subscribed threads from there.
I'll look into the default "notify" setting
One email per thread has been added to my list of suggestions.
