Invoice PayPal Problem

Default Invoice PayPal Problem

I just sold an item and invoice was sent to buyer. When he tried to pay via PayPal he received the following email:

"We cannot process this transaction because there is a problem with the
PayPal email address supplied by the seller. Please contact the seller to
resolve the problem. If this payment is for an eBay listing, you can contact
the seller via the "Ask Seller a Question" link on the listing page. When
you have the correct email address, payment can be made at xxx.paypal.com"

I went into My Market profile and I had already checked PayPal but the comment box just below was empty. The instruction said to enter my PayPal email address which I did. I assume that this is my email address that I use with PayPal which is the same address I use for RCU. Is this correct?

If so will this correct the problem my buyer is having or will I need to send him a new invoice. If so how do I do that? Thanks!

Only you know if the email address aligned with your Paypal account is the same one you use in your RCUniverse account.

The comment box below the Paypal option in the invoice is a free text field and is used by sellers to provide any last minute information or comments to the buyer.

The field in which you list your Paypal email address is located in the ad creation tool on Step 3 where you select your accepted methods of payment. There is a small field directly below the Paypal option on that page where you enter your Paypal email address, which as stated above, only you would know if it is the same as the email address you use in your RCU account.

Thanks John. Initially when I checked my Market Profile there was no email address listed in the space under where I selected PayPal as method of payment. I added one this morning. Just now I checked my ad to see if there was an email address in Step 3 and there was but I don't know whether I put it there or it was placed their automatically when I added it to my Market Profile.

My problem is the invoice the buyer has which was created and sent out yesterday, apparently has the wrong email address linked to it. So is there any way to issue a new invoice with the proper link? Thanks.

If you edit your ad and correct the email address listed in Step 3 under the Paypal option, then submit the ad, you will be able to resend the invoice and it should have the correct email address. You will be able to review the email address before sending the invoice as it will be visible to you.
