Hey, guys. Just wondering what the normal response time should be once an offer is placed. I just posted my first offer ever on RCU, on 05/02/10, and haven't heard anything back from the seller, who is actually a TRADING PLUS MEMBER! I also sent a PM, in case the seller didn't receive my offer, and heard no response. If he's not interested in the offer, that's fine, he can just reject it and we'll move on. I've been checking the item to see if it is still available, and I'm not sure, to be honest...I also noticed that the seller has in fact logged in to RCU 3 or 4 times since my offer was placed on his item. What recourse do I have? There are other similar items I would like to bid on, but can't, since my offer is still 'PENDING'. Have my hands tied right now...can anyone shed some light on the situation please?

How long a seller responds to offers or questions can greatly vary.
Please remember that most of our sellers are private hobbiests who must juggle home and work commitments as well as their hobby interests.
It is resonable that you should expect a response within a few days. However, if you feel you have waited long enough and wish to move on to some other item, you can withdraw your offer without penalty any time you like as long as your offer has not been accepted the seller through the site.

Hey JWM. Thanks for answering... I completely understand that we all have our responsibilities to take care of. The issue I have with it, is that the seller has in fact logged in again, now for a total of about 5 times, since I sent the OFFER and PMs back on 05/02/2010. If he is too busy at home and he can't log in to check on his item, that's one thing. But when he logs in time and time again, but doesn't have the courtesy to respond to OFFERS and PMs, that's completely different! I do not want to retract my OFFER, since this is my very first transaction on RCU (or attempt anyway), and do not want it to show on my ratings that I have a RETRACTION, without even ever purchasing any item...hope all transactions are not like this! Please let me know...ITEM #******. George

* Note: I have edited your ad to remove the ad # in question. It is not the purpose of this forum to call out specific buyers or sellers.
I have reviewed the offer you posted. I notice that it is less than what the seller is asking as he state the buyer is to pay shipping, but you have stated in your offer that the amount includes shipping. More than likely, the seller is holding on to your offer to see if anyone else makes an offer that matches what he has listed for the asking price plus shipping.
As stated in my first response. You can withdraw your offer at any time prior to the seller formally accepting it "without penalty". This means there are no marks or poor ratings on your account. If you withdraw your offer before it has been accepted (which at this time it has not), neither the seller nor the site will flag your account for having taken this action.

Thanks again, JWM...and sorry to take up all your time with this issue (and my time too). I was simply hoping to get at least one response back from seller before I give up on the item. A little courtesy goes a long way, you know! Anyway, thanks for your quick response, JWM!
