Conversation Between FUTABA-RC and Sawtooth

I have a new R2008SB receiver and in the process of centering up two aileron servos I ran into a problem. I am using a standard "Y" harness and when plugging in one servo it works fine but when I plug in the second servo into the other side of the Y harness the receiver begins to blink and both servos do not function. Do I have a defective receiver or am I doing something wrong?
